Giggles From The Syndicate
« on: January 08, 2008, 10:07:37 pm »
We here at the Greed Syndicate strive to provide our potential customers with what they need even before they know they need it.  As a way of reducing tensions that can rise amongst the crew on those long and onerous patrols the Syndicate has graciously provided humerous material for the crew's use.  (Because if your crew is laughing they're not paying attention to the long range sensors...)

Check this subspace frequency often for updates.

Music from the Mirror, Mirror universe.  Elvis assassinates Led Zeppelin and Bob Marley and becomes even more hugely popular.

Welcome to movie night.  Anyone caught using a communications device during the show will receive twice normal duration in the Booth.  Popcorn is 2 credits and watch out for the Dire Wraiths necking in aisle D.

I just couldn't resist bringing this one to you.  Yes, that's right:  With the application of a little (a lot) of money you can have a genuine witch cast all sorts of spells to assist you with your life.  Need money, a promotion, or true love?  They've got you covered!  They'll even cast your chosen spell(s) twice or three times in order to give that extra push to the magic.

If I find out someone here buys one of these things I'll strap them to a warp nacelle and vent my drive plasma.

It's a lazy Sunday afternoon here on the Syndicate Throneworld.  We've just gotten word that Simon "Shaun of the Dead" Pegg has been cast as Scotty in the upcoming Trek movie.  In honor of that here is an episode from his latest television effort.

(Warning:  Bad language, including a few uses of the "F" word.  Adult situations predominate.  Very definitely not safe for work.)

http://www.stage6.com/user/gisco/video/1457451/Spaced-02x02

We've been hearing rumors that there will be a Next Generation Remastered release similar to the one for TOS.  There will be a few surprises when the deleted scenes are put back into their repsective episodes.

I've heard there are a lot of Battlestar Galatica fans out there.  (God knows why.  They should stick with good science fiction like The Prisoner, Doctor Who, or the annual State of the Union addresses.)  Here's a story about the upcoming season 4 including SPOILERS and some information about the upcoming prequel which is set 50 years prior to the current series.  (Did they really turn Starbuck into a woman?  Christ!  I bet she plays the Barbara Streisand version of The Vagina Monologue on those long trips in her starfighter.)

http://blog.wired.com/underwire/2008/03/last-night-the.html

And here is a small preview clip for season 4.

I wonder if there's any chance we could get Louis Farahkan or Al Sharpton to adopt the movie theme as their theme song.  Just imagine Sharpton press conferences with that as the background music.

For fans of the Watchmen graphic novel I have the latest and greatest breaking news about the upcoming film.  Voila the video web journal on the production.  The focus in this issue is the sets.  You'll get a peek at Dr. Manhattan's military lab and his New York apartment.  There may be possible SPOILERS here.  So, if you're looking to keep absolutely all the surprise intact, you may want to avoid this.

If you like old time radio you'll love this site.  I spent all last night listening to Jack Benny and Gildersleeve.  Oh, and the Sci-Fi radio channel rocks.  The other night I heard a great radio play adaptation of a Robert Heinlein short story.

For those who have been watching season 4 of Doctor Who I have at treat.  The BBC released a B trailer that is only available in the UK.  I managed to intercept a subspace mail packet and get a copy of it.  Savor it because 12 Andorians, a Deltan, and 4 Vulcans died to bring it to you.  If you're looking to stay unspoiled for this season I recommend you not click on the link.

In case anyone missed it, here is the latest trailer from the upcoming Star Trek XI.

(Please tell me that that isn't Matt Damon playing the young Kirk.)

And for any Doctor Who fans who wander by, I have a site absolutely loaded with spoilers for the Christmas special this year.  Also on the site are potentially huge spoilers for next year's 3 specials, and for the season in 2010.  Be warned:  if you want to remain unspoiled do not click on the link.

(Scroll down a bit for the spoilers.)

My science officer confiscated this from a Tholian freighter we hijacked aggressively inspected.  He laughed so hard and so long that I was forced to beam him into a bulkhead.

William Shatner (a.k.a "The Shat") has recently commented on Star Trek XI's failure to hire him for the film.  Today the Syndicate has managed to hack intercept a transmission which accurately portrays Shatner's frustration with J.J. Abrams' snub.

There has been an update to the Star Trek XI trailer.  This one is slightly longer and boasts an appearance by Leonard "Chinaman Haircut" Nimoy.  Has anyone noticed that the U.S.S. Kelvin (NCC-0514) makes the long-loved Akula class canon?

It's possible that everyone has already seen the picture of the "new" prequel Enterprise.  However, just in case you haven't, Syndicate espionage agents have recovered a rendering.

For the Doctor Who fans who may or not be present, I've raided the BBC with all disruptor blazing  found a trailer for the upcoming Christmas special--"The Next Doctor".  After the trailer (which does contain one or two spoilers) there is a series of photographs taken during location shooting.

That Shatner clip is funny.  I wonder how he distinguishes people apart, because by that standard, Rosie O'Donnel would be just as hot as Salma Hayek.  I mean, they both have two arms and legs, breasts, dark hair.   Just because ones gut may be a little bigger or the breasts may be a little lower, face a little harsher, doesn't mean that the image of one isn't faithful to the other, right?  Any clear thinking individual would not dare make a distinction.  I mean if Jessica Alba had a massive unibrow, a huge honker, and big ol' buck teeth in her next film, she'd be just as beautiful, because all the main fundamentals are there, right?

Here's something special for Bill Hicks fans.  David Letterman finally came to his senses and allowed the playing of Bill's last appearance on the Late Show.  At the time, Letterman had cut the spot because he felt it was inappropriate.  Now, 15 years later, Letterman kisses Bill's mom's ass on national television and plays the spot.

It seems not even the most intimate moments of a President aren't safe from examination in the public forum.  Did we really need to know this about Obama and his lovely wife?
