According to offical news from New Line, Peter Jackson has signed on to produce 2 new Hobbits movies.

I was just going to post this.

I wonder what the "sequel" will be about? As far as I know there was never a sequel to the Hobbit. He could make a two to three movie series of the Silmarillion if he wants.

Sequel?  Hmm, could be multiple ideas.  One could be based off the appendixes and other items after the LotR.

Could also perhaps be based on a speculative journey of Bilbo's last journey to the Last Home?
