Has anyone been working on a model for this beauty? (Besides Perpetual, of course.)

Also, check out their re-imagined Doomsday Machine.

I'm just not a fan of that ship. Looks like a Galaxy / Sovereign kitbash, to a certain extent. And those nacelles are horrid, imo.

that's a very interesting looking ship to say the least. I dunno, at first glance I was a bit bothered by its look but as I looked at the picture and anlysed the design I think I coming around to like it. I would love to see this ship made.

I have to agree, it's ugly.

I like it! But it looks like something that Atolm could spice up a bit.

thats cool. id love to see a take on that design. I'll offer my help on illuminated colored light maps for the scales/plates to give it a transparent like glow.

Should be able to use the existing mesh of spacecadetglowuk's that's out there and use a .TGA around the front and sides in SFC 3 to give it some transparency and get the extra effect.  But that'd work only in SFC 3.. for SFC 2 we'd want to use a different illumination map to simulate the transparency, and then the glow.  For SFC 1, we'd want to bake the internal glow onto the base texture, and use a slightly altered mesh for the front of the machine.. it could all be done.  :)

Which reminds me, I need to finish play-testing my new Doomsday mesh as well and get that over to KF again so he can try it again.. so much stuff, so little time...  ;)

It's a nice concept, someone just needs to step on it and flatten it out some.

It looks like the FASA Wellington and Envoy (design wise) just using different parts. Great sketch Jay1886 you have mad skills. still don't like the ship though LOL sorry.

The word for semi-transparent is "translucent"!!

The old TOS Doomsday Machine looked cool as it was, especially with that translucent glow.

Why muck the thing up with scales and make it ugly??

One of the best TOS episodes out and one of my favourites.

The Klingons have many ways to fry a cat. I prefer to use an L7 Fast Battlecruiser!!

the doomsday machine is awsome. The ship, looks too much like a bulldog, rear to small for it's body. But, it always has potention for non-fed lovers to shoot at, so why not.

The doomsday machine sparked an idea for me. Did the backstory for the machine mention if it grew in size as it "fed" on material? I remember, I think, that the planets and materials provided fuel for it. It would help explain it's massive size if it started about the size of a standard starship and had the ability to repair itself and add to it's own size and power as it destroyed enemy units. This redesign reminds me of a seashell which is what brought the idea up.

The Excalibur concept is made by Perpetual, the ST:O developers. I merely completed the missing parts by taking several images from the trailer and drawing the bits which missed.

I still like it, the fact that it seems to almost sit up seperates it from the rest. Granted I wouldn't suggest basing a series off this one but the different look is nice I think. It seems to give the design aspect a little more room to breathe. The latest designs for star trek were starting to become condemning. It was beginning to seem that everything had to streamlined and compact. No more room for ships like the galaxy class. However this ship steps outside of that and breaks the forming pattern. I like that we can still see ships that arn't so completely aero dynamic. Did anyone else like this ship or are me and AlchemistD alone in this endeavor?

The design could grow on me, but a couple of issues that I find with it at the moment.

The nacelles seem too small.  It looks like that ship would be lucky if it could make Warp Seven.

The secondary Hull needs to be a bit bigger  A bit longer perhaps, heck I don't even see a shuttlebay on this ship.

By the size of the ship it looks to be a Cruiser, maybe a Light Cruiser.

Other than that it does look like a good ship.
