A cause of type 2 diabetes?

The team has identified an enzyme in diabetics as the active agent that blocks the production of insulin, which is a hormone that helps the pancreas convert blood-sugar into energy.

Current treatments try to control insulin levels but do not address the reasons why insulin production is failing.

But the team's leader, Trevor Biden, says the next step will be to work with pharmaceutical companies to develop a drug to block the enzyme, known as PKCepsilon, allowing cells in the pancreas to function normally.

Here's a tip food producers don't want you to know. Cut out everything in your diet with the casein protein in it.   That's the one single best tip for a healthier life. Get your calcium elsewhere and live a better life.

So now they need to figure why the Liver makes this enzime that screws up the Pancreas!!

My Liver doesn't make the enzine to take out the toxin Chlororpyl, making me totally alergic to eating greens!! My body can't deal with ingested foods containing Chorophyl and I become quite ill.

I have the one food alergy that every child the world over dreams of having!! ;D

Apparently, as children, exposure to the toxin Chlorophyl, encourages the Liver to develop an emzime to deal with it. This is similar to how exposure to alchol increases our immunity to it. The more you drink, the more you need to drink for it to have the desired effect.

I still grew up big and strong despite not eating no greens. Yep, your parents lied and made you eat unplatable food for nothing!! ;D

I sure hope that they don't ever find a cure for this enzime deficency!!

casein protein?  So you are suggesting dropping which foods?

I wouldn't actually say that would be a wise idea...especially if you are a woman...unless you want to suffer from calcium deficiency later in life.

Plus you'd miss out on all the glories of some other frozen treats.

Rice substitute and protein substitutes don't seem to be the best things to try to replace that loss either.  Neither do calcium tablets.  I could understand if someone is lactose intolerant, but I'm not so certain I'd go stopping from the intake of any products of anything with casein protein.

Liquid vitamins are avaialble for an increased cost and can be metabolised easier tha solid vitamin capsules/tablets. This is especially the way to go if you can afford the increase and have any digestive issues.

If you spend some time researching, you'll find out just how destructive casein can be to you and your immune system. Calcium is now found in fortified orange juice and then there' liquid and tablet versions etc.  We've had to eliminate casein and gluten (wheat protein) in our house for our kids sake and when we adults have a dairy product, we really feel it after all the time away from it.  Too bad that stuff that's bad for you tastes so good.

As far as dropping certain foods, you really have to read labels. Casein has various forms on labels and may say casein, caseinate and whey is also the same protein. sometimes packaging will say dairy free, but you'll still find whey or caseinate listed and that's a no-no.

My brother and his son (my nephew) are both alergic to Wheat Germ. This seems to be a common alergy.

All birds have a Lactose intollerance, or more precisely, an intollerance to Lactose Sugar. However cheese has no  Lactose Sugar as the bacteria used this to make the cheese. Milk is actually bad for birds!!

Just remember that lactose and casein are not the same thing. Many people with casein issues also have wheat issues as they are both a complex chain of large size. Digestive issues like leaky gut and large complex proteins can be a bad thing.

It just seems that folks are becoming more alergic to natural food stuffs sometimes, considering all the chemical junk that is pumpped into what we eat.

Casein is a funny thing. Some people think (and have studies) that it causes cancer and has other bad side effects while a lot of body builders and health nuts of that sort have whole powders which are basically 100% casein and the vast majority haven't had problems with it (and their own studies). Who is right?

Not everyone is going to have a problem with casein, but if you have immune system problems, it seems likely that this could be affecting you.  As far as the increasing food allergies. this goes hand in hand with our increasingly polluted air, water and food etc.  In Canada, a bunch of politicians recently had themselves checked for toxicity to play down an enevironmental groups claims that our children are very toxic. It backfired in that they showed to be very toxic.  I haven't seen anyone in the medical community deny that on going toxicty runs down your immune system and promote an ongoing inflamatory response to your system.  Doing more reading, this ongoing toxic immune system issue presents itself with increasing allergies.  This is very brief on my part, but it's all there if you want to do some reading/research for yourself.  We have been dealing with this for years at home and with some specialists, so we have some idea about it.

Casein and cancer?  This sounds a bit like a book we just started reading at home. I'm about 60 pages in and it would seem to suggest to me that if you have the foundation laid for cancer in you, casein will help promote it, not give it to you on it's own.  The book is called the China Study and the author's credentials look solid. Everyone is so preoccupied with the CO2 "thing" that attention is conviniently focused away from the really serious polutant dangers on the planet.

So many companies and corporation who proudly announce that they are "carbon neutral" are dumping crap on the planet behind their backs. >:(

Scientists have linked obesity to the growth hormones pumped into cattle, especially in the US. The French have banned US meat imports because of this.

What goes in one end of the food chain continues down it, and as the top preditor on this rock, ends up in us.

As for politicians being a toxic hazard, we don't need a scientic test to tell us that fact!! ;D History has proved that for us over and over and over again!!

We are all different biologically and so one man's meat is another's poison.

Some people are immune to toxins that would kill millions. A friend of mine works with a guy who is naturally immune to Cyanide. One is a million people is immune to Taipan snake venom, of which there is no anti-venom. It is the world's most deadly snake.

I believe that it is nature's diversification, to ensure some will survive a disaster, is also what makes some of us succeptable to alergies, cancer, chemicals and other things.

It is also what makes some individuals immune.

It is interesting that the FDA was before a senate commitee to explain why they are deliberately trying to play down the effects of Hydrogen Sulphate in fighting cancer.

Cancer is a big bucks industry and a lot of people do not want a magic bullet to be found.

Odly enough, Penecillin received that same scepticism when it was first announced.

The sad fact is that catching a fish in a river, today, and then cooking it to eat is becoming a game of Russian Roulette, thanks to the poluters. >:(
