Hmmm... Pegasus before it finds Galactica.... I hope it is worth it....

After 6 months of no new BSG? I'll take it. Yeas we'll see Pegasus before Galactica, but it will also include Pegasus under Lee's command.  8)

There are also to be ~2 minute mini-episodes showing a young Adama in the first Cylon War (i.e. the old Cylon models and ships from the Original Series).
Bad News: SciFi is airing them during commercial breaks for Flash Gordon
Glad I have a DVR.......

from sci-fi's bsg site:

The Razor Flashbacks
From October 5 through November 16, SCI FI whets Battlestar fans' appetites every Friday night with Razor Flashbacks during all-new episodes of Flash Gordon. All the flashback clips will be available on SCIFI.COM immediately after broadcast.

Written by Michael Taylor and directed by Wayne Rose and Felix Alcala, these intense, roughly two-minute segments tell the story of young William "Husker" Adama's rookie Viper mission during the first Cylon war. In addition to fighting for his very survival against relentless Cylon centurions, Adama makes a terrifying discovery that will come back 40 years later to threaten him, the crew of the Pegasus and the survival of the human race.

This isn't footage you'll see in the premiere of Razor, so make sure to watch every Friday for a new flashback adventure, then see it again on SCIFI.COM!

After seeing the first Razor mini (with a young Billy Adama), oh, and realizing I can't let the kids watch BSG because of the sex scenes, I do have to say I am quite excited about Razor.  I'll have to watch it when the kids are in bed...

Check out sci-fis website. They said they would post them after they aired.

Razor is OK, but don't get too excited.  It's a very isolated, knock-off, back story kind of thing.  Interesting to watch but does not add much to the overall show.

Yeah dl it after your post the other day.

It was OK, but honestly I thought the "modern day" storyline kinda ruined it.
Also thought CAine's actions were...kinda screwy. Might have made more sense (to me) if they had changed some of the timeline around
(So maybe the betrayal was before she started the psycho stuff).

ah, but Hexx, didn't you get the idea that some of that psycho stuff from Caine was a lot like Six's viciousness?  How do you know what sweet nothings were being whispered into Caine's ear as the two women lay (and writhed?) in bed together over those weeks?

Over all... I was disappointed by Razor.

Poor Telemachus Rhade... The XO is executed by Cain AND then it is proved that everything he was saying was correct...

The Cylons knew they were coming and laid a trap....

He was right, she killed him for it, and showed no remorse for it?

And all this after establishing that her and her XO were on good enough terms for him to be inviting her to stay with his family?

That is beyond insane and the crew, the most immoral one I have ever witnessed in both real life and fictional writing, showed no faith in humanity that even with a whack job of a leader... no one would stand up to her.

Every officer on that bridge should have place Cain under arrest for the murder of a Colonial Officer.

That's what I mean, I could have seen it if it had been shown that the Cylon #6 "revelation" happened, then she decided to shoot him , as the crew could have assumed he was another cylon, at the very least they may have been so disconcerted by teh idea that cylons walked among them that they wouldnt have protested ..( what is his name again? Ehh I'll call him Rhade as well.) Rhades execution

I admit I've never served, but I'm assuming that generally troops wouldn't take well to a commanding officer shooting a subordinate who's essentially doing his job.

For a series that (to me anyway) usually follows a logical , fairly well thought out plotline, it just seemed like Razor is trying to cash in on teh series before it ends.

I remember in the episodes where Pegasus and Galactica reunited (season 2), Colonel Fisk told Tigh about the execution of the previous XO.  Then he laughed it off and said it was a joke, but it really happened.  I think you guys are are downplaying the ability of people to rationalize following a madman (or madwoman).  There are plenty of real-world examples where people follow mad leaders.

Osama bin Ladin
Saddam Hussein
Adolph Hitler
Mussolini

Look at wars America has fought in its history.  You will see examples of barbarity that would not normally be countenanced by our people, but because of circumstances in those times, were committeed.  Hell, look at the public debate on torture in this country after 9/11 (where less than 3,000 people died).  We now debate whether waterboarding is torture or not torture when if you had asked after it became common knowledge that the technique was used on POW's by the Vietnamese, the decision would have been unanimous:  waterboarding is torture.  Yet now, we debate whether it is torture or 'agressive interrogation'.

Less than 3,000 people dying changed that in our society.  In this show, you have less than 2,000 people surviving a holocaust that destroyed over 12 billiion.  As far as they know, they are all of humanity that survived, and the only reason they survived was that their leader, Admiral Cain made the right decision at the right time.  Who is to say that doubting her future decision is to doubt the quality that kept you alive when over 12 billion others died?  There is a mystique to that which gave Helena Cain unparalled power and influence over her subordinates.

Indeed,
It's difficult to make something like Razor appeal to the casual and hardcore BSG fans. They couldn't really go back and retell the mini series again.

I'd argue they could have. (Well for me personally)
I'd have liked to see a 'What If" version of BSG- Showing a similar, yet different trek that Pegasus took.
Galactica found out about teh Cylon infiltrators, kept it quiet, things worked out
Galactica (Rosalyn originallY) realized the war was over, and began a withdrawl

I think it would have made a better story if Pegasus had discovered the infiltrators early, then gone completely paranoid about them~
That would have (imo) tied in nicely with the Admiral shooting her XO and no one protesting, as well as the looting and massacre of the civilian fleet Pegasus encounterd

It could have been a "what the Galactica might have done if evrything kinda went wrong" (well more wrong)
Instead- as I've said- it shows an Admiral basically teetering on the edge of insanity, for no shown reason, and with no shown consequences.

Acting was great, special effects were fantastic, storyline was crap.

I just watched the dvd and hadn't seen it on air at all. Story line was ok. Acting was great and I was really pleased with the fx. Not sure how I feel about the Starbuck stuff from the hybrid.  Seems like Moore is just a big teaser.
