here something else.

a klingon fed hybrid, not like the one centurion is making for me :)

This one I'd really have to wonder about.. I can't see the K'Tinga neck being strong enough to support that Connie saucer.  And why cut the K'Tinga's forward pod in half?  I might be able to see the torpedo assembly being replaced with a Klingon assembly, but you'd have a lot of Klingon warriors rather honked off at the dismembering of a Klingon spaceframe like that to mount it onto something as decident and soft as a Federation Heavy Cruiser.

I'm sure that the K'Tingas really *did* only have one toilet just to make the warriors surlier.. and that one was probably vacuum operated at that.  ;)

(image: Klingon warrior crouches in airlock, takes off belt, and wraps it around support post.  Hits "Flush" and bathroom waste and most of the airlock atmosphere gets flushed into space.  Warrior manages to close hatch and start repressurization before he passes out from lack of air.  Wakes up to other warriors banging on airlock door, and pulls up pants to leave airlock)

Pretty sure that KF would agree with me on this, but I can't see the design ever leaving a development yard for any extended period of time.  From a reverse engineering point of view, some of it would make sense.. but the bridge module alone from a K'Tinga might (with a lot of work and adaption) fit inside the bridge module port for a Connie saucer.. but that'd just be the bridge, not the rest of the upper superstructure.

A better adaption would be Mackie's "USS K'Tinga"

Personal opinion though, and as always YMMV..

Alec
That's really nice work.   My only suggestion would be either scale up the  A,B,C Decks By a little more make them 85 percent the size of the Constitution this would give the frigate a small bridge but something that is still reasonably scaled or redesign the A, B C deck to a 2 deck height
Deck for a bridge. again The bridge can be slightly smaller than the Connie's but not by too much .  ;D

You're right Don, I should've caught that myself.  Unless they especially hit the crew with non-lethal TCE's (Doctor Who reference) or staffed the ship with Horta or similarly small peoples, the bridge would only be able to handle children for crew.. not full-sized adults.  And small kids at that.

It matches the original for scaling entirely now, but in this case, the scale is going to be too small.

Best solution would be to scale up the ship for size to make it closer to the Saladin.  If DK is okay with that?

You gotta give credit to the guy that made that hybrid.  Talk about creative and resourceful.

Oh, and Don, aside from a break model, what else do you want done on that kitbash?

no, just that, thanks :)

here pics of the ship F9thCenturus made for me, the klingon hybrid.

But why are the nachelles on top anyway.... the Burke Class models in SFB and artworks / diagrams of the BUrke Class always have the nachelles underneath close to the hull.

Having them on top mounted also blocks part of the firing arcs for the Port and Starboard Phaser Banks.

I'm surprised that nobody has had a go at the similar sized Kovaris Class (DD 460 - 462) destroyers.

They mount a T-Pylon arrangement above the saucer. I made a model of both the Kovaris and the Burke back in 1994 and still have both. I had to create and mould a lot the plastic parts myself.

From what I have.  The frigate ship from SFB if you check out the starliner ships have the warp engines on top with the pylons just off the impulse engine/engineering area.

She seriously needs a retexture so that it doesn't looked slapped together.  Well, so it looks less slapped together.

No problem.

Since the ship is more or less in a D7 configuration, I'll copy over the hardpoints from the Klink ship I used.

P.S.

The ship uses parts from WZ's Gettysburg, D7, and TOS Akula.

I know.  I just made the post for disclaimer purposes, and so that I know proper credit is given.

Remember, this ship is meant for personal use.  I'm pretty sure WZ doesn't mind images posted, but not the ship for release.

Just let me know before you put it anywhere for download.  I didn't write a readme to accompany it.  Just included WZ's readmes.  Well, two of them.  I forgot to add the 3rd, now that I remember.

Old age, it sucks.  My mind's already half dust.

I know, it wasn't very useful to begin with, but oh well.

Crap: I need the Surya too.

Okay, I found my copies of the 1024 versions (for SFC 2) of the Surya and Pegasus.  Do you still need them?

.. haven't forgotten this, but have been running sick for the last week and spent two days home in bed asleep breaking a fever, posting when I was lucid.

Doing better now, otherwise you'd be getting a post like:
"Walrus orangatan, and the bird said Nom".  ;)

Will try to get this complete this weekend and up for download..

Okay, finished (got some time at home with no pressure).

And there are two ships for release.. I went with the original request, and developed off that into another idea (that came out of the bashing).

First is the replacement Burke request for the original Fleetdock 13 mesh.. it turned out really well.  Then I would up making something that looked sort of like the NX from Enterprise.  So I went with that as well.. decided to reimage that ship as a SFB inspired remake of what a ship like this *would* look like.  Both ships have shuttlepod bays under tha saucer, the Burke in the front, the Columbia in the back.

So there we go.. just have to get these over to I'Mudd's as per the credit requirments and have him review the ships.. then if he's cool with them, they'll be up there ready for release.
