Nikon announces the D3 and D300. Both feature a 12.4MP CMOS sensor that covers both FX and DX formats. The D3 will be 5.1MP at DX format size.

With stores taking D3 and D300 orders today and expected deliveries in Nov., prices will fall much sooner than that.
