Switching Models
« on: August 22, 2007, 10:15:04 pm »
Can I have the SI and Victorias secret models switched out for our BCs and Dreads? lol JK

How do I swap the old BCF/BCG models for the ones in the OP+ pack? I know it can be done with minimal effort, but I can't remember how to do it. I have nothing against the models in OP+. I just prefer the models for the BCF/BCG that were in OP originally.

Whnat version of the game are you doing it in?

SFC 1 and 2 you can use shipedit to change the path in the shiplist.txt file.
SFC 3 is similar but not quite the same

although changing the path in the shiplist.txt file would change the model used, wouldn't it also make it so you can't play on the dynaverse in the games that validate the shiplist.txt file?

would just making sure the names are the same and swaping the two ship files out do the same thing and still let you play the dynaverse games?

Assuming you want to switch out the models entirely and play on the Dynaverse

If you're using OP+ (as an example)
Find the models in the directory (in this case OPPLUS/models/fbcg and OPPLUS/models/fbcf/fbcf.mod )

Delete whatver's in that folder (but not the folder)
Paste the model you want in the folder
Rename the *.mod and *_brk.mod files from your "new" model to fbcg.mod and fbcg_brk.mod

(Example)
I decide I like the fbcg model and hate the fbcf model, wanted to use the same model for both

1) go to the OPPLUS/models/fbcf directory and delete everything (save it of course if you want)

2) go to the OPPLUS/models/fbcg folder, copy everything and paste it into the OPPLUS/models/fbcf folder

3) in the OPPLUS/models/fbcf folder I now need to rename 2 files
fbcg.mod is renamed fbcf.mod and fbcg_brk.mod is renamed fbcf_brk.mod

Now the model for the fbcf and fbcg are the same, and I haven't done anything to the shiplist files so I can still log onto the D2
