Its definitely a faster connection :)  I was able to log on to the dynaverse successfully, but I came back a little later and i kept getting stuck on the 90 second countdown. It would get down to the 30 second countdown and just stayed there. I even let it sit there for about 5 minutes and it still did nothing.  Has anyone experienced that?  I'm definitely glad to see that we will still be able to play SFC3, and I too, am very grateful for those responsible for bringing the game back.

Heh, well, like I said, it wasn't just me... I cannot take even close to full credit on this.

Let me just say this - there are people who obviously really care about this community (the entire community, not EAW , not OP, not SFC3 - everyone!), and we should ALL keep that in mind.

Say a prayer, burn some incense, whatever you do to thank those people. We're just here @ D.Net to serve the community and make sure no one makes you PAY to play any of these awesome games. And just to state it incase some one doesn't know - of course the SFC3 Directory servers will be hosted FOR FREE, there will NEVER be a charge or a "pay to play" thing here @ D.Net.

'Cause that's the way we roll.

Regards,

Frey

Just wait till that ol' fund drive comes around again.   ;D

'Course they could always kick in a few at any time.  ::hint hint::   ;)

Hey fellas, Im kinda having a problem getting onto the new dynaverse. Way earlier today, I had logged in with no problems, and then a couple of hours after that and still now, I get the 90 second countdown. It countdowns to 30 and then does nothing else. I havent tried to adjust my router settings or anything. Spent hours trying to log in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had similar problem, works after I tried this (if you use router, if not this will not help):

Note: You can place the following line in your SFC.ini file at the end under the META section. If you're using Network Address Translation (most people behind routers are) then it will greatly speed up the DirectPlay Test as it will check your external IP address first. This will keep you from having to update your IP address in the ini file, since most people addresses are dynamically assigned by the ISP and can change anytime.

Just a note to all you folks out there on the D3, should the access server for some reason go down (Happens once in a blue moon) just send a PM to Frey or myself.  Either one of us can get in there and give it a kick.

Hey Suomela, I certainly appreciate your help being able to log into the dynaverse again. I put that "BehindNAT=1" line in my sfc.ini file and it works great. Thanks a million.

Once located, right click and choose Open with... then choose notepad or wordpad when given the chance. It may pop up with select a program to open this file.

Hope that helps.

Be careful what you change.  You'll then be prompted as to whether you wish to save your changes.  Simply select "Yes".

Dynaverse.Net has obtained the Directory Servers for SFC3.

As of tonight, the directory services are up and running, and we've already gotten a "beta" patch for the client side, and we're working on fixing the serverkit to connect to the new directory servers - so everyone chill out, we've got you covered :). Give us a couple days to get everything up, tested and verified, and then once we've gotten that done, we'll release both full-release patches to the community.

You can download the beta patch HERE : ftp://ftp.dynaverse.net/sfc3/Patches/sfc3_directory_server_updater_b1a.exe

Just copy and paste that into a browser, and you should be downloading.

NOTE: THIS IS A BETA PATCH AND AS SUCH YOU NEED TO READ THE INSTALL TEXT IF YOU WANT IT TO WORK. The final-release version will not require this.

We'd like to thank S31 and our un-named benefactor for their invaluable support in this endeavor, it couldn't have been done without ya'll !

Regards,

Frey
