More whacky SFB stuff

Just changed that- is it whacky or wacky?
I really ought to know that I think..hmm

Grabbed R11 today (new module for SFB)
Lost of -why the heck would they put this in a game about combat- stuff, couple of cool things.

Fast War Cruisers.
Now everyone knows and loves the CF's (except you DN weenies)
And everyone knows and loves the CW's (except you DN weenies)
So why not put them together?

They're like the frickin Reese peanut butter cups of SFB.

Ranging in power from 34 (Gorn,Rom) to 40 (Hydran)-on a .67 move cost ship remember- I'm thinking you'll be seeing a number of these on the next few servers

(Again of course the Lyran one is a ship of a thousand Ph2's...)

Fed "Express" escort
The Fed Express ship with 3 drone racks..
A BPV of 26 may give this ship the new hex flipper title..

Oddly enough I wasn't talking about the E4..  :P

But you're probably right, got thinking about it- what use is a BPV of 26 if we don't have any AI that low to match it to?
At least the E4D will draw other (small) ships

Still -you should be happy, the Kzin CMF looks pretty decent, although it's drone racks are "D" racks- something I have no idea about.
Maybe they're some kinda asteroid avoidance system..

The K-G2C used to rule as a flipper as it drew only one basic Fed POL.  Boring as heck, but with mission times well sub-two minutes, things went fast.  Unfortunately, the E4D comes out late, so the M-DF or DF+ rule early on. The K F5DB is OK, but cannot HET with impunity.  The D6D series are soooo slow to accelerate.

In SFB do they allow shipyards, BATS, and FRDs to carry spare parts? IIRC the addition of spare parts MIGHT be a way to up the value of FRDs and repari yard defense/attack missions.

In SFC OP I have been able to transport spare parts from the enemy  ships in combat and even from some planets, I'm not sure how to do it with FRDs or shipyards. Maybe shipyards can have 4 spare parts and FRDs 2 spare parts? As I'm not a SFB guru or spec maker I'm not sure how to implement this.

And, only the host is able to take parts form planets, stations and FRDs.  ;)

Yes, in SFB they all carried spares, SB and FRDs the most.
The ships did not. Damage Control was the only way to fix damaged systems.
They changed that in SFC for easier playability, I assume.
And, only the host is able to take parts form planets, stations and FRDs.  ;)
