The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.

She could use some phaser textures.  I've got a texture, if you're willing to map it.  :-p

It's a very informative tutorial, which can produce quality results.  Right now I am still just trying to remember the various steps, so I am still watching the tutorial each time I make another saucer.  I am starting to get some ideas on how to vary the end results, so I may next try something else for my own purposes. 

Anyone who has seen the tutorial will clearly see that the saucer I made looks nothing like the one Fury made, but none the less, it was his method that helped me create the saucer you see above.

I've still got a long way to go, and I've got some support in teaching me more modelling techniques.  Hopefully soon I might post a ground up build of another starship.

You might want to try a ledge, like this:


Before you use the bevel tool to create the initial top, use the inset, then the bevel then continue as normal.

I did something similar on the ventral side of the saucer, however you can't see it in the pictures I posted.  :-p
