Thrain

As you may have guessed I am not as well received as we once were.  Sorry you got caught up in the middle of what ever it is ?

Am am fine.  I still work an average of 55 to 60 hours a week as the purchasing director of the company I work for.  Nanner is doing well.  He now has TWO daughters.  I sold my bass boat over a year ago  .... ( I have to stay out of the sun now ..  several precancerious items removed a couple of years ago from my face.)  Nothing major.  Everything is cool.  I still get to go a couple of times  a year as opposed to once a week as we use.  I managed to boat a large mouth that nearly tied my personal record of 7 Lbs (about 4 months before sellling my 21' rig).  Looks like the days of fishing regularly now are gone !  BUT ..  that is the way life is.  I have no regrets.  Heck ..  my wife and I celebrated out 33 anniversary in May ! 

Below you will find a small part of the ships I have completed on my own now (as far as the meshes are concerned.)  One of these days I will find the time  (and a reasonably priced program) that will allow me to texture them.  I already do textures ..  just can't do the mapping to have something to apply them to.

Feel free to call some time ...  there is a steak dinner waiting on ya when you come .  (please note:  this is not just crap I'm posting on a public forum. )  I still have a lot of fond memories of most of the old trimmers from the old fleet.  Seems like we all had the greatest respect for each other ..  even when we dissagreed on stuff.

At any rate.  For those of you to whom you think this should have been a PM ...  sorry about that.  Thrain seemed to indicate this was the best way to contact him ..  and for that I will not dissapoint him.  If any of you find this offensive ...  well  ...  this is one time you will just have to over look it !

oh ...  almost forgot ...  here is the wip stuff !

- Wasn't the Defiant refit finished and released? It's at Battleclinic.
- The Klink BB crashes my system so if anyone else is willing to help with this one contact Buzz
- Your baby the Bass Master is awaiting you and I hooking up on MSN so I can send you the texture maps
- I'll map the Mako for ya if ya send her my way
- Someone step up and assist on Buzz' new TMP cruiser please

Actually No to the PM question

If you want to state how you are doing in your own WIP thread, that is up to you. I do tend to think that any personal information let out in a public forum is a bad idea but you are old enough to decide that one for yourself.

As for a mapping program Smiley use to have a free version of UV View to map textures to ships, I will look around this HDD and see if I still have it. Maybe you will get lucky and he will still have it up for download if I don't have it anymore.

Ummm   Gafy..

The WIP stuff was, in fact, for Thrain.  The last time we talked with him ..  (and that was a loooooong time ago) ..  I was barely able to do re-textures.  Needless to say a lot has changed since then.  The post of the WIP stuff is all old data for those who watch this board at any length at all.  That is why I just took a few clips off of SEVERAL WIP picts of the past ..  and just threw togeather this post for Thrain.

And yes .. you are right about the personal stuff...   that is why there is really not too much written there that is "too personal" ...  if ya catch my drift.

It's fairly common knowledge that :

1.  I've been married for over 30 years  (33 as mentioned)
2.  I've had a bout or two with some form of skin cancer ..  (fortunately just pre-cancer stuff)
3.  That I love to bass fish  (hence the name of my fav advanced light cruiser the X-CLC  USS BASS MASTER) ...  In fact come to think of it ...  getting that ship built by Atheorhaven, Darkmatrix and P-81 was what kinda introduced me to this part of the community!

soooo   yeah bud ...  ALL of this thread ..  including the WIP stuff (since he has not seen any of the work I've been doing in for ever ) ...  was pretty much for him.  I don't mind that others have read this.


I just hope that after all is said and done THRAIN reads it !

Glad to hear things are ok Buzz. Sorry about the loss of the boat. I know how much you and Nanner both enjoyed fishing. I just feel sorry for your wife, lol.

33 years is awesome, but since you aren't out as much as you used to be I'd imagine you're a bit underfoot....heh heh heh.

Now that I know you are alive and well, and that you check in on these boards from time to time I'll restrict myself to PM's for those who just can't stand to see people who get along and have nothing to hide talk about OT stuff. Hmmmm.....I guess we'd be cloggin up a board that has threads dating back to it's infancy still active. I'd hate to waste space on something as inane as a shout out to some one I have missed and enjoyed playing with. That just kinda chaps my tail. children....... ::)

.....and as you can tell I haven't changed much either :laugh:

No luck on my end it did not make to this or my last PC, Sorry Buz but looks like your only hope is Smiley still having the copy or if we get really lucky someone else has it still laying around. It was pretty handy to use if the model did not load into milkshape to make changes with.

(but when it comes to steak I take it VERY personally.....that kinda stuff rates for a pm).

As you can see from the above I am of sound mind and have all my marbles......my wife now makes me inventory them 1-3 times per day depending on the severity of my mood swing, lol
