ATI Driver Flaw Opens Vista Kernel
« on: August 13, 2007, 12:08:00 pm »
An unpatched flaw in drivers from ATI creates a means to smuggle MALWARE past improved security defenses in the latest version of Windows and into the Vista kernel.

Microsoft is working with ATI on an update which security watchers warn might be far from straightforward to roll-out.

I read about this not too long ago and as  I recall the hacker who discovered it demoed it with an ATi driver but stated the same flaw exists in numerous other drivers.  Which really to my mind makes it a a Vista flaw not a driver flaw.

I believe truth and principle do matter. If you have to sacrifice them to get the results you want, then the results aren't worth it.
