Morrowind game of the year edition
« on: July 11, 2007, 05:19:19 am »
I'm a big fan of Oblivion so I just bought Morrowind game of the year edition (comes with tribunal and bloodmoon). I was wondering if anyone who has this game of the year edition knows if i have to patch it or not. I've read some forums that say because its game of the year edition it doesn't need to be patched. But i have also read some other posts saying the opposite.

Does anyone who has this game of the year edition know if it needs to be patched?

iirc i HAD TO PATCH IT, oops caps sorry. Then again, I have the American version, it might be differant overseas. Well that, and mine has way to many addons, graphics packs.

Check out Qarl for his older morrowind stuff.

Looks like i have got it sorted thanks for the reply. :)

Yeah i know what you mean about mods, got about 20 or so running. Been using Qarl's XT texture pack as well as a couple of others such as the vampire embrace, hunger and realism mods.

So far the game is pretty good, though i'm not sure about the combat system it just feels a bit awkward.

Hmmm...I wonder how it would be to go from Oblivion to Morrowind.  I went the other way.  The combat system is simpler and easier than Oblivion.  Just remember when an item loses health it drops off you into your inventory so bring spare stuff (and as many repair hammers you can carry) cause some of those dungeons in the Main Quest can test your endourance and I came out of one with just a tea shirt on...lol.

Morrowind is still the best game I ever played for total effect.  So many factions and quests and for its time a world that really sucks you in.  The Main Quest is a Masterpiece as it slowly builds and unfolds ...  I remember leaping from rock to rock while making my way to my final confrontation with Dagoth Ur, with Azura's words ringing in my head "Save My People" and the island slowly drifting in chaos...  sheesh I hit those suckers hard!

And there are no limits ... you can uber you PC to the max which is like 1000 points in ability...  of course I never did but it was cool.

Tribunal features some VERY super tough bosses so be prepared to be humbled on occassion.

I used the Giants mod because it allowed me to trap a soul to 500 points...way cool.
