Would a limited player race signup work?
« on: July 15, 2007, 12:38:58 pm »
Ok, so working around several things to get an Andro invasion server set up.

Now ~ here's one of the big questions.
There are two ways to do this
1) Everyone vs Andros
2) Coalition vs Alliance vs Andros

Both would require only a few players to fly the Andros (probably 5-8ish for hte second, and around 20-30% of players for the first)

So- would people (ie: you) be OK with flying on a server where only a handful got the super kick butt ships?

I know this is similar to what happened on RDSL, but
a) we have far fewer players
b) there won't (really) be an equivalant of the "lost tech" ships
DH is (well someday will be) doing a number of xp conversions, ships that are the regular line ships partially upgraded to some XP tech, and there will some other ones
but nothing that super.

I pretty much have goals, maps,VPs etc worked out (there's some stuff i need to bother NW about, but I've asked hime enough for one week- I'll annoy him more Monday)

Now- the basic concept to balance the ships is kinda simple.
No more than 1 Andro ship can be in most hexes, 2 in some very important ones
~ Andros flying Cobras (a very small DD ship) can wing up, but that's it.

Galactic races would be subject to normal fleeting restrictions (ala AOTK3/SGO) with a provision that restrictiosn are removed for the big target hexes.
(So you'd have 2 Andros vs 3-4 Galactics depending)

Anyway- anyone willing to spend 2 weeks flying against the super ships?
(And BTW- I won't be flying Andro, so no "easy kill" claims you bastards)
