I lost the connection twice between around 7:30 P.M. EST and 9:00 P.M.  I refreshed the selector screen several times and the Forge didn't reappear.

Patience is obviously not one of your dominant qualities... :P
There have always been ups and downs in the D2, you must learn to ride the waves...  ;D
Either that or become more active by sharing your wealth of knowledge about the inner workings of running server software and/or by making donations to XenoCorp to help pay for (since one man alone has been doing that for a long time, out of his pocket) the hardware that keeps it running.

Otherwise, learn more patience.  ;)

You're right, it's not.  My apologies for being rude.

rude?

or

eager?

patience is a virtue...   ;)

and there's always something else to play in the meantime...

OMG!  did i say that?  that has to be a first!

maybe we will get a new and improved map and such with the long wait...

maybe get those new missions and lists back too...

one can always hope...
Life cannot find reasons to sustain it, cannot be a source of decent mutual regard, unless each of us resolves to breathe such qualities into it.

Maybe amazing, but it makes since.  Name one game that is as good, 'specially after the community has gotten their hands in on it.  I don't think you will find one.

Maybe some publisher will get the idea that they don't have to spend time developing a new game, just tweak this one a little, and make a quick profit.  I think the idiots emptying their bank accounts of the MMORPGs have the developer's attention right now, but the free MMORPGs will bite into that soon.  There are no space sim games on the market.  Eve isn't a game, it's a job you pay to do.

SFC was always a longshot.  I'm amazed the game was ever made.  Seems like Paramount wants to keep tight reign on the cannon, and the old SFB rules are only true to TOS.  The game genre is out of vogue.  Still, the game can be modified enough that it doesn't have to get boring.

With that new Star Trek movie coming out this year there may very well be a renewed interest in the TOS era.  Given the prevalence of cross-promotion in the movie industry these days I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that there is a Star Trek XI/TOS game already in the works.  Wasn't the latest Spiderman game released either right before or along side the last Spiderman movie?

It's a prequel to TOS with kiddie versions of all our favorite characteres.  Simon "Shaun of the Dead" Pegg has been cast as the young Scotty.  Leonard Nimoy is going to appear as Spock and The Shat has not been included.
