OK, (in this order) I uninstalled op+, then uninstalled atok3, then reinstalled op+ as per LK's directions.

I start the game, but I don't hear the "beep" when you click stuff like login buttons etc. but I do hear the background music.
Now when I get to the login screen to go to the campaign selector, all the boxes are blank.

Usually it says "checking patch...etc. and lists my account name, password etc. but tis all empty and it wont let me type anything in the boxes.

Now, here's the kicker, it will still light up the login button to get to the campain selector screen after a few secs. I can select the forge but it wont let me type anything into the name box when you decide on a race. And thats as far as i can go.

Last time this happened (on the SGO7 server) I had to reinstall everything from scratch. Do I have to do this again?

PS: DH, no more installer/uninstaller packages from you unless they work pls. >:(

Why do people keep installing/unistalling crap?

All you have to do to switch between(most) servers is switch out the ship & fighter list and ( maybe) a few mission scripts.
And you'd only have to do the mission scripts if a server is using older versions of certain missions.

Two (2!!!!) files.
Well and maybe a model.siz file- still shouldn't be this many people having issues.

I'll write up a genius like post in a second here..

Kaz, try just going to desktop and back to the login screen, or any other screen that you need to type.  This is a little bug that sometimes shows up after an install.  This will fix it, you just have to remember to do it every time you start the game or you  wont have a keyboard in the game if you ever get there(ie IP game, GSA, single player).  The only way to permanently fix it is a re-install unfortunately.

I know what you're getting at Dfly, the keyboard bug right? Yeah that works for sure, but the all the boxes on the login screen are blank. Usually your login name, password, etc are already there as well as the text that comes up when its checking your patch or gives you the firewall message, etc. But, its all blank and it still lights up the login for me even tho everything is blank.

When I went to reinstall the game after SGO7 due to the SAME problem, it wouldnt finish installing citing an error in the moving of files.
I actually had to go to a restore point before the start date of SGO7 to ensure the game worked for ATOK3.
Kinda sucked. :(

Only other problem I have ever had similarly was that my original disk is too scratched to give me a proper game.  I have to use my copy to install.

You had a uninstaller option...?  :o
I didn't... :-\
Shoot, I did what I did and prayed....
If you had a uninstaller icon, all you should have to do is run it and you'd be back to OP+4.0 (assumming you didn't have other mods already)
At least that's they way it used to work with Bonk and Pesty's installers...
Simple...easy to use...I like that in a women installer...  :P

Just re-install OP+4.   That's it, that's all you need to do to "remove" the AOTK3 stuff

I know there are few clear cut rules for this server, but...
Transfers to other races to buy ships and then going back is one thing, but these transfers need to at LEAST be confined to the same side.
ie: Coalition only flying Coalition ships and Alliance only Alliance ships.
IMOPO, transfering to get an enemy ship you may like really shouldn't be happening.

I thought bonk had fixed it so you could only transfer to an aliied race.  Could someone before the next reset please pull that stupid planet hex patrol mission where you wind up having to attack a convoy and then due to its buggy nature, it's declared a loss after winning the mission and you walk away with 50 PP?

Sorry about that - a fixed version has been posted, but didn't make it into the current mix

Race transfers is one of the many settings available to change for the admin.  You can set it to none, allied or all.

FleetAdmiral DreadPirateGeek - (15,13) in mission
FleetAdmiral Gruesome - (24,5) in mission
RearAdmiral H1AF-deadman - (21,8) in mission

These 3 have been displayed for 6 days now on the OCI. Something broken or are these three extraordinary nutters?  ;D

Well, The Forge 3rd addition is down.
It's still The fragmentation Effect that is running.
They must have been on when it was taken down, sort of ghosted on the OCI.
My guess, anyway...

Fragmentation Effect is still up. Use http://www.dynaverse.net/oci/index.php/cfg,forgecamp.html for OCI till the regular Forge is back up.
