Looking for an old Mod
« on: June 16, 2007, 08:13:36 pm »
Does anyone know where I can find the old D2 mod that many modelers were involved in- most prominent among them was P81, but there were a lot of modellers involved.  Does anyone know where I can find it?
I liked the whole TMP with WOK soundtrack and sounds thing, which is why I want this particular mod.
thanks.

Yep it's on Battleclinic, most of it at least. It's missing half the Klingon ships. but all the Fed and Rom ships are there.

Let me check. Just so we're on the same page, on Battleclinic I searched for D2 which gives 2 Fed, 2 Rom & 1 Klingon results. These are the files I was referring to.

Missing for the Klingons are the B-10V Carrier, Experimental Cruiser, Experimental Destroyer & Freighter.

i have a lot of fed and some klingon and romulan ship, i think there a shiplist for the d2 mod pack on the battleclinic, you should check for the mod pack, it might contain what you are looking for

if you don't find it, i will check my cd for the mod pack and see if its there.

I did a full search page by page of the Klingons but no luck on any of the missing D2 ships. Also you may want to do a runthrough on your uploads. When I searched your name it gave a lot of results that no longer exist, Battle Damage Constellation, USS Republic old and S.S. Aurora to name a few.

Right on the money. I have the Feds, Roms and all the Klingons except the one's I mentioned above the B-10V Carrier, Experimental Cruiser, Experimental Destroyer & Freighter. The rest were on Battleclinic.

You should have googled it... (keyword: "D2 mod pack")

Huh, that really never occurred to me. What a simple and mind numbingly obvious idea, thanks.  :)

Checked it out and it's still missing several models.

...the [Klingon] B-10V Carrier, Experimental Cruiser, Experimental Destroyer & Freighter. The rest were on Battleclinic.

Battleclinic has the most complete D2 collection. Check your drive for the ships in the quote, they're still MIA. I think I'll ask over in Atra's forum as well just to cover all bases.

but since the D2 pack is available for download, would the missing ship be in the pack?

also made them available if someone just want some of the mod, i will try to install the mod pack and see if i can get them.

I downloaded both packs from the two links and they're actually missing more models than the battleclinic downloads. There were only six of ten Klingons and nine of thirteen Romulans in the SFC3 D2 packs linked by You-Cheng.

Um, the D2 High Res model package by Atrahasis and Pneumatic81 is part of the OP Enhancement Pack any version.. just Dl the OPE and run the installer.. just dump out of the Batch file.. then find the High Res Installer in the Installs directory of the folder you chose to install to.

That should take care of the Models.. it is the complete package IIRC.

As for the rest of the Mod.. I dunno.

These ships were remained the same as stock models, you already have them if you have SFCOP installed, along with Romulan Experimental Cruiser, Experimental Destroyer & Freighter.

The mod packs I posted were the same as the original packs that were released by Pneumonic81 and Atrahasis.

Oh son of a flip switch, I wish that had been written down on a read-me or something. I was looking at the D2 shipcharts and it didn't ever occur to me that they had left some of the stock models alone. I've had the ship I was looking for the entire time, I'm such an idiot.  :-[

well since you have the missing model, post them at the battleclinic so anyone lookng for them will have them, and don't forget to put "D2" with the name so it will be easy to find  ;)

That's the rub Don, the missing ships are all out of the box stock OP models. Everyone who owns OP already has them. You think it'd be a good idea to upload them anyway just so no one else ends up confused?

I doubt that would be necessary. Anyone who has the ability to download and add ships should have already played the game and know what ships are available with game.

well maybe no one notice that the mods are missing unless you check you're mods to see if its there.

anyway since i don't have them on the cd's when i get my com back i will check my HD for them.

*Zing*  Yep I'm guilty of being a knucklehead who didn't recognize the stock Klingon ships shown on the D2 ShipChart.  :-[

@Don: The "missing" models I've/we've been looking for are stock OP ships. The D2 downloads from Battlclinic and the links provided by You-Cheng are complete they just don't include the ships already in the stock OP install.

Yeah, as in fresh install from the Orion Pirates cd. The four Klingon models that I thought were missing from the D2 packs are actually stock from the box models.
