Got an idea brewing for..

The Ultimate Universe for Starfleet Command.    Still deciding which Starfleet Command I'll use..

I can hear someone = 'Oh No - another 6-800 meg Mod from Chris Jones'

haha ;D
..Because the game does not have to, and will not, remain the same..

If you use SFC3, I can help with any Fed work you may need when it comes to hardpointing the actual models and specing them as well.

The idea with the Ultimate Universe for Starfleet Command is to bring many of the same concepts and scenarios that UU for Legacy has into SFC. It will not be as pretty of course - but the fun factor will surely be there. It will use batch files to switch out different shiplists, specs, etc.. and incorporate all eras of Trek.

Did SFC3 ever get a mission editor? - been out of the loop for a bit..

Not sure.  The guys to really ask that info are over at sfc3.puterz.net, since all they do there is mod SFC3.  If a mission editor is available for SFC3, then they would have it.

The Rebalance Expansion is brilliant. I, however, and not using SFC3 for the Ultimate Universe for SFC. For one basic reason - 4 races. That aspect of SFC3 always bugged me. Op had 16 - EAW had 8 with a little mission editor. I'll be using SFC2: EAW for The Ultimate Universe idea. I do, however, think that your work is top notch on the Rebalance Expansion.

Thanks for your praise. It would be my honor to have your words.  :)

From visual effects spects, EAW and OP lack ship-specific damage textures. They only use same set of textures for heavy, medium, and low damage. Therefore results much simpler, not intensive visual effects when ships are damaged. So I suggest paying some attention on them if you want to use EAW or OP as modding base.  ;)

Thanks man..

Did up 2 Wolf359 scenarios - Play as Fed- Play as Borg - Quite fun as the right sound effects and taunts were available. The Borg Engine audio alone will scare you to death.

Also.. Here's a video of a scenario that will be in 'The Ultimate Universe'

Good to see something being done for EAW again. Before the final patching of OP more people were on Taldren's boards were playing EAW than OP. All of those people are still out there somewhere. Maybe you'll find them?

I didn't watch the hole vid, but it seems that tactically it's weak. Just fly up to your opponent and blast'em? Need to get some cojones and up the competition in that scenario. :P

I wish SFC: OP had a mission editor.

Remind me again please, can't the eaw: uaw shiplist be used in OP?

I know the models, textures and sounds can work for OP.

The idea is to get to the starbase - the roms were all freighters- maybe add 5-6 more. lol

If you mean can the EAW shiplist be used in OP? Been a while since I tried - but I think so - perhaps copy the eaw shiplsit and paste it over the top of the 1st eight races in OP = leaving the cartels alone. I now recall doing that once - it was fun.

There's more scenarios coming - and some surprises never seen in any SFC game.

Chris, you know I love you work!

Ok, I'll ask. Why EAW instead of OP?

Several reasons my friend..

1. The little FMSE Mission editor - believe it or not, I can create some very interesting things in there with the right shiplist. I don't want to bother scripters busy with Dyna and other things in OP. Love to get Centauri Vaughn, actually. My old pal.

2. Something keeps drawing me back to EAW = I fired up the old TNG for it recently and went on a nostaliga trip.

3. I want to give EAW a shot in the arm - as Rod O'Neal mentioned. When you see what I'm doing - by the way Moonraker is on my team - you won't care what game it is, lol.

4. Because I can - hahaha :D

Wow, that Cube is nasty!

I may have to reinstall EAW.

Chris, do you have the EAW patches available?

I have the main patch - from 2002 to 2036

http://www.chrisjonesgaming.net/

Look under Star Trek Games and titles = Starfleet Command II

or how about this - http://chrisjonesgaming.net/downloads/SFC2Patch2002-2036.exe   ;D

Dynaverse.net also hosts this.
