Sheesh, I thought I had it hard with the winds tearing up my old barns. It's a shame we can't get that rock over here in the US, you could make a killing.
Stephen
This land is cold and hard, we do our best to live off of it.
Savolaisen laulu (Song of Savonian)
Remembering in the mind of mine now
the sweet land of savo
its people whom suffered all
and been down with its luck
this dear, precious land!
High are its hills
Glorious are its glades
the peaceful are its valleys
and busy its groves
How dark its cradles
It's wilds how blue they are
How bushy its woods
And how the humming if the pines
is deep, proud and potent
and how winds are peaceful
And where do the stars shine
in the harshest of winters
and where the skies of the north
any sweeter
Than in the Skies of Savo?
Yes still I am remembering the one
its glimmering more dear
the eyes of the Savotar
Where the sky shining
connected its blue
Too much we dont brag
but we might as well tell
so Finland elsewhere should not mock
if we have a thin wallet
if we've been found to be poor
Often a field golden
glowed for you
when ours, worked over with with pain
was struck down by the enemy
and burned down to the ashes
And many times it happened
when the oppressions hit us
when the wifes and children were slain
when the men and husbands died in wars for you
you ate the bread of peace
If in tongues could tell
their sights the old trees
and our mounts sing
and our slopes whisper
with their words mouths of sounds
The many of them
good would be to prove
here the people of savo fought
and each nail went cold
for the land of finns
So lands, others I dont know
Anything more dear than Savo
And nothing else rings as loud
than what god created
Than the dear land of Savo!
