Model conversion request
« on: May 19, 2007, 08:11:28 am »
Hello,
Could anyone please help me convert this model to SFC1 format? I have only Milkshape so that I cannot convert the _brk.mod model. This is a retextured stock SFC3 fedstarbase with textures by paperboy2000 and moonraker.

Thanks.

The point is the break model. I cannot use Milkshape to save break model so I need someone with 3dsmax to help me convert it. There is no ilumination effect in SFC1 so lighting textures are not required.

I can probably help.  I can remove the lightmaps from the model and make a break model.  I can't hardpoint the thing though cause I don't mod anything but SFC3, so I am not familiar with the hardpoint layouts for anything other than SFC3.  The damage points however are done exactly the same.

Ok, here's a quick adjustment.  Lightmaps have been removed, break model created.  I left the hardpoints as is.  Like I said, I can't hardpoint for SFC1, 2, or OP.  Milkshape shows the hardpoints as little ball joints, so you can move them around.  Or you can have someone that does mod SFC1 rehardpoint the model for you.

Here's the original break model ported, just in case.

If he has milkshape all he has to do is renumber them. The HPs on the model work the same they are just points for the fire to come from. In SFC 1 and 2 points 1-10 are heavy weapon ones and 11-21 are for phasers. The only real difference is you have to make them match a premade UI instead of making the files as you do in SFC 3

Yes I can rearrange hardpoints in Milkshape myself. Thanks to F9thCenturus for your kindly help. :)

btw, has any one ever converted stock SFC2 or SFC3 listening posts to SFC1? I'm not sure if it's been done before... SFC1 uses a mini fedoration starbase for listening posts. lol

I thought listening posts were also small fed starbases in SFC2.  If they aren't, then post the stock ones for SFC2 here, and I'll remove the lightmaps and send them back.  Since SFC2/OP hardpoints are the same for SFC1, they'll work just fine.

Never mind, I found a better replacement from Battleclinic.

It doesn't have break model, but that's not a big problem for a listening post.  :D
