I know 1st armored and 3rd armored (U.S. army) were definitely near Khamisayah, it would explain why a lot of their veterans (myself included) were upgraded in ratings even though we did not apply or fill out any paperwork.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070517/sc_nm/veterans_sarin_dcIf you know any 91 vets that were mainly in combat units, please tell them to look up their units to see if they might have been exposed (C.I.A. has a list along with an exposure model based upon winds and temps in the 4 day period after the U.S. bombed the weapons depot where Saddam's generals had stored the Sarin rockets), and tell them to get registered through VA's Gulf War registery, they also know all the units exposed. Then if they have had any problems be it physical or mental or both, tell them to apply for that compensation.
It's nice to see even though our political parties suck, both sides of Congress can agree on something, like not having to wait 30 years before taking action on a "agent orange" type of deal as they did before.
Also, the Anthrax vaccine could be a factor too. did you know that it is banned nowadays? After research on it, the powers that be were shocked to find that it was highly dangerous and it should not have been fast tracked by the military or the FDA and all batches used in the 91 war formula were destroyed and banned for production. Kinda late for those of us that served in Desert Shield/Storm, but hey, proud to be a guinea pig for our country!
