OP help! unexpected error

whenever I open the campaign for Op it just shuts down the game and gives some error message, anyone know how to fix???

Did you try this? Or does it not apply in your case? It's the only reason that I know of for the stock game to crash when trying to play a campaign.

You might have to delete any old saved campaigns.

"C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\Metaassets\db\saves"

Do you have any 3rd party scripts installed?
Have you modified any game files?
If Romulans aren't cowards, then why do they taste like chicken?

no mods, no 3rd scripts (i think)
I already tried deletin game files.

might  just want to uninstall the  game making sure any files  left are deleted also reinstall it patch it then try running the game. I assume your running on xp or earlier if this is  vista i have no clue as i dont run that os

Hello,
Been a while since played OP.
But I experience a similar problem, here is what i did to overcome it:

(1) Reduced the settings on my Graphics card, sometimes  resolution too high for any version of SFC, cant remember the setting, groan.
(2) Deleted the 'Allscripts.cache' and 'Campaign.cache' in the games folder 'scriipts'
(3) In Control Panel/Internet Setting delete cookies and temp internet files.
(4) In java via control panel removed all cache.

Hope that helps.

Oh 1 last thing if you do the above the log-on removes your ID and password_- No problem just re-enter it.
