3D Exploration Question
« on: May 06, 2007, 09:29:06 am »
OK, I am swallowing my pride and I am going to go ahead and ask for help.

How in the world do I get my lightmaps to show when rendering in 3D Exploration? Is it a special model format? Do I have to adjust texture properties? Do I need to have a double layered model? Any help is appriciated.

3d-exploration/Deep-exploration doesnt work very well at rendering the lightmaps the way we see them in 3dsmax or SFC. Unless you do them in color (actual red/blue glow colors not in grayscale). In the materials tabs you can view its properties. it should have a separate menu for what maps to use like diffuse, specular, lossyness, and self illumination. Self illumination is the property you want to work with, and all it will let you do is chose an image file for it.

I dont recommend using 3dex to render lightmaps because the results will be very different from what you would see in SFC.
