The spare PC parts Dyna help a member thread.
« on: April 24, 2007, 10:08:58 pm »
We was going to have a sub-forum, but for the time being, we will just use this.

If you have spare PC parts, and want to help another member here, just post here, and we will see what we can do.

As I've just finished creating a Frankenstein machine for my nephew what I have left is two 3.5" 1.44 MB floppies. A Mitsumi model D359T6 (4 pin power connector beside the data connector) and a Mitsumi model D359M3 (4 pin power connector above the data connector). Both are beige faceplates.

Cool idea Stephen, it does deserve it's own section, IMHO.

We should also include games as well. I got some games that I'd rather give away (I still regret mailing my SH3 to a forum member in need though, hehehehehe, I should have only mailed the SW Galaxies as promised) than trash them. I also have to figure out the fairest way of choosing who gets what as I did the first come, first served thingy but it's not fair as a lot of forum members do not have the time some of us others do.

I'll go through them but I have 2 definites right now.

Pacific Fighters/Lock-on/IL-2 Sturmovik Flight collection from Ubisoft.

http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/Info.aspx?pId=15

http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/Info.aspx?pId=138

Heroes of the Pacific from Ubisoft.

http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/Info.aspx?pId=3997

It's not that I do not like Ubisoft, they make some of the best games out, it's just that I already finished the campaigns and well, it gets boring. The graphics? Stunning as usual. If only Ubisoft did the graphics for a star trek game like SFC, I would have been in heaven!  ;D

I think you was part of the suggestion years ago EE. Games would be good also though. Let me talk it over with the admins, and Nemesis,  and Let's see about getting these groups started.

I've got a CD-Writer, DVD-Rom, Nvidia FX5200, and an old modem, I think.

Does anyone have PC100 SODIMM's (laptop memory)?  If so let me know.  I am interested in 128MB and 256MB sizes.

Hey DonKarnage, anymore info on the MB? Does it have an AGP slot or a PCI-e?

I could use a stick of PC2100 any size. I have several older CPU's that I can't ID, older Power supplies and other older video cards and stuff from salvaged P2 and P3 towers. I think I also have some SIMM's lying around as well if somebody could use it.

I've got a new floppy drive... never really used... but these days these are so cheap that shipping costs more than the drive.  (Recommendation: better to put your shoes on and walk down to the store and physically pick one up, walk over to the cashier [and pay cash!... unless you want to charge five bucks].

I have indeed. I'm running 1.5 in my box, but I can take it to 3gig IIRC. Sadly it's the older PC2400 stuff.
