Hard Drive
« on: April 26, 2007, 11:28:39 am »
Lately, I've been thinking of Hard drive space.  My laptop has a 60- gig which still has some 13-14 gigs on it, but still i would like something else so I could do more home video and photo stuff.  Odds are we are talking external, and I would like to at least consider portability.  I could do a search, Im sure, but does anyone know of a well priced external HD out there that performs decently?  More generally, where should I buy?  Best buy?  new egg?

But tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or fix this hole in a mother's son?
Can you heal the broken worlds within?
Can you strip away so we may start again?
Tell me, can you heal what father's done?
Or cut this rope and let us run?
Just when all seems fine, and I'm pain free, you jab another pin,
Jab another pin in me

I would try first the online shops of: Newegg, Zipzoomfly, Mwave, Ewiz, MicroCenter, BestBuy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Directron, even Page Computer and look for the best deal.

Funny thing: Newegg has a "sister" company, Chief Value.  The prices and merchandise are almost identical, but every once in a while, there may be a thing or two cheaper in one over the other.

There is another online site, LogicalPlus.com.  But with this one, I'd just be a bit more careful.

I wonder if you're a Costco member, or if nonmembers can still order from their website.

Anyway, Costco sells the Western Digital 160 gig passport hard drive.  It's very slim, compact, light, plugs straight into your USB port, and only 120 bucks.  The price might have come down.

You might be able to find it cheaper on some of the sites mentioned by E_Look.  Amazon.com is also a good place to look for stuff.  Just gotta know how to look when it comes to sellers.
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.
