Connecting to OP Dyna issue
« on: April 13, 2007, 02:48:13 pm »
Hi, I know this might belong in another category but I'm a little frustrated.

I've just downloaded and installed everything I need for SG07 from scratch.  I turned off my firewall and started up OP, but it still says I'm either offline (umm... guess that's not the problem :P ) or I have a firewall up and can't connect to the Dyna.

I'm running AVG Free, which seems to me screwed up my last computer and caused the same issue, on Win XP.  Naturally I disabled everything I could disable then exited completely before starting OP.  Is there another setting I need to disable to get online?  I'll rip AVG off if it's interfering with OP.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks...

Alternate universe:  Khan was banished for preserving the peace. The Genesis device was really a super weapon and kirk had planned to use it on the klingons. Chekov found the Botany Bay and khan hijakced and killed the evil reliant crew in an effort to destroy the genesis device.    Ahh i love it :D The alternate universe rocks.

Hmm... router, well no.  But I do have this modem that has a four input LAN/wireless built into it (Aliant 6520 SpeedStream).  Damn it, do you think that's what's causing this?

Problem solved... initiated a DMZ, thanks guys... any admins, I wouldn't mind if you deleted this thread to keep this forum clean.

Just needed someone to jog my memory, been a long time since I've been online.

DMZ really isn't a good idea in the long run. It's better to find out which ports the program needs in order to function and enable them in port forwarding. That way you can play and still have a firewall.
