SGO Test server bugs etc. reports
« on: March 20, 2007, 11:56:02 am »
Had a mandatory convoy raid in 7, 11,  klingon home space while flying klingon. I won the mission while destroying the escort and either capping or destroying all the freightors, but it counted as mission lost while paying as though I won it.

Hmmm ... I'm assuming that's Met_NW7ConvoyRaid, but there's no way that should be coming up in your own (or allied) space.  The fact that it's offered at all is a real puzzler.

Long shot - DH, anything funky with the server settings?

It did draw the appropriate enemy in hydrans as the hexx borders hydran space, but it was a surprise getting a mandatory convoy raid in home space.

No, these are pretty much the same setting I've used in the past 10 servers.

It appears to have been reset. Just logged on to find my character, my ship gone.

Yeah, I reset it every couple of days but you get 100K PP to buy a new ship

Major bug here...the server allowed this character known as the TheJudge to log on, take a spin in several ships, run several missions that were interesting, all without crashing, or bugs.

That crash was my fault, bad idea to try to install OP on the same PC which is running the server as a Virtual Machine . . .

I knew I should have kept track of stardates...but well this problem kept occurring over and over.  Playing Federation (duh, what else), I bought the GSCR, outfitted her with Vulture II (I need to refresh my memory on what fighters equal F-14 etc) and headed off to neutral space for some fun.  Took a nice patrol mission (17).  In mission started prepping my shuttles (SS, WW, SP) and fixing all my settings.  Then I went to go and launch my fighters.

No fighters in the shuttle display area.

Woops!  Did I mess up and not include them?  After mission go back to spacedock...get fighters.  Yup, they're there now.  Go back into mission (patrol 11 I think it was).  Check on fighters...nope, none there!  Uh-oh.  Now, is it just the GSCR or is it all fed ships with fighters?  Get another guy who is online as fed (can't remember name atm - i'm at work) and he gets a carrier, launches fighters no problem.  Maybe it is ME, so I get a carrier, launch fighters no problem.  Get the GSC (no stinkin 'R'), and same problem.  So, there you are, I think I found a bug and it's not stardate-related...*sigh*

Right click on your OP icon, got to properties and in the Target box make sure it has:
"C:\Program Files \Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\StarFleetOP.exe"
In the Sart in box make sure it has:
"C:\Program Files \Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates"
If you don't have OP in "C" drive, insert correct drive designation.
Now try... ;)
