SGO Test server bugs etc. reports
« on: March 20, 2007, 11:56:02 am »
Had a mandatory convoy raid in 7, 11,  klingon home space while flying klingon. I won the mission while destroying the escort and either capping or destroying all the freightors, but it counted as mission lost while paying as though I won it.

Hmmm ... I'm assuming that's Met_NW7ConvoyRaid, but there's no way that should be coming up in your own (or allied) space.  The fact that it's offered at all is a real puzzler.

Long shot - DH, anything funky with the server settings?

It did draw the appropriate enemy in hydrans as the hexx borders hydran space, but it was a surprise getting a mandatory convoy raid in home space.

No, these are pretty much the same setting I've used in the past 10 servers.

It appears to have been reset. Just logged on to find my character, my ship gone.

Yeah, I reset it every couple of days but you get 100K PP to buy a new ship

Major bug here...the server allowed this character known as the TheJudge to log on, take a spin in several ships, run several missions that were interesting, all without crashing, or bugs.

That crash was my fault, bad idea to try to install OP on the same PC which is running the server as a Virtual Machine . . .

I knew I should have kept track of stardates...but well this problem kept occurring over and over.  Playing Federation (duh, what else), I bought the GSCR, outfitted her with Vulture II (I need to refresh my memory on what fighters equal F-14 etc) and headed off to neutral space for some fun.  Took a nice patrol mission (17).  In mission started prepping my shuttles (SS, WW, SP) and fixing all my settings.  Then I went to go and launch my fighters.

No fighters in the shuttle display area.

Woops!  Did I mess up and not include them?  After mission go back to spacedock...get fighters.  Yup, they're there now.  Go back into mission (patrol 11 I think it was).  Check on fighters...nope, none there!  Uh-oh.  Now, is it just the GSCR or is it all fed ships with fighters?  Get another guy who is online as fed (can't remember name atm - i'm at work) and he gets a carrier, launches fighters no problem.  Maybe it is ME, so I get a carrier, launch fighters no problem.  Get the GSC (no stinkin 'R'), and same problem.  So, there you are, I think I found a bug and it's not stardate-related...*sigh*

Right click on your OP icon, got to properties and in the Target box make sure it has:
"C:\Program Files \Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\StarFleetOP.exe"
In the Sart in box make sure it has:
"C:\Program Files \Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates"
If you don't have OP in "C" drive, insert correct drive designation.
Now try... ;)

I got the same message a few times.  Then I reinstalled the mission pack and was able to log in.  Noticed server had been reset and I had a DDG+ and 3000 pp.  Then I noticed the x-ships in the shipyard.  Playing Fed, I right-clicked on XCB and got a black screen.  Hitting ESC brought me back to the shipyards.  Right clicked on the XCF (or whatever the frigate is) and got a black screen.  Clicking on another ship (a regular ship) got me the ship schematics.  I went ahead and bought the X-frigate.  I also noticed the missions were now "Investigate", "Patrol", "Asteroid Base Defense", etc without the "ED#" in front.  Tried the Investigate and the Asteroid Base Defense missions.  Both of them started with the basic star field, no ship model and froze after the mission orders appeared on the screen...

That one might have been dumped in the server's ValidateFiles folder by mistake (?DH) - it's one of the "big map/warp missions", so probably shouldn't be in the mission mix for this server

I've reloaded the mission packs a couple of times...but the file is still not in the assets/scripts file.  Is it available anywhere by itself so I can put it in the directory? Or is there a pack that should have it?

Edit:  Finally got in by loading the file from this thread:  http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163373338.from0.html#new

That seemed to work since Lear and Lord Krueg wiped the floor with me and poor little light cruiser...

I did notice there was no DV shift as a result of that battle.
An NW5Fleet Action.
It may have been because we capped your NEC AI ally.
I've seen that bug a mission before.
Especially since we both put marines on it and neither could control it and it just flew off the map.
But, a gg nonetheless.  ;)

I tried all the links to D/L scripts, including installing the full NW pack, then the ED Warp pack.  I am still missing the Met_EDWarpbaseassault and get the CRC error.  Happy to do some testing if I could get on.

Judge, be glad the Chandley class frigate is not there, every other race would be screaming "Uber Fed frigate, uber Fed frigate!"  ;D  The thing in the FASA game was more than a match for even the best CAs. FASA had some really awesome designs though. I wish I had put my FASA Federation starship technical manual in a safe place before I joined the army in 88, my brothers swiped the game and the manual and it "disappeared."

On the New Map.

I was flying Mirak missions in the neutral hexes on the Fed Border.  When I came out of a mission, I noticed orhan Klingon AI icons had spawned in adjacent hexes,  This happened twice, then I stopped as the icons were hanging around like "ALT F4" database filling icons. All missions were won, and ended normally, but these Klingon orphans populated the area.  No KLingon AI were in any missions.

Just ran edpatrol10 in the pit (in a nebula), and had a fed BCH as an enemy. Someone needs to fix that .

Thats because you didnt follow the installer instructions which are now posted. You are using the op+4.0 shiplist, yet you bought a ship from the NEW server list that has PF's. When you launched them, your shiplist couldnt verify you had the proper shiplist and dropped you to the desktop. Go D/L the latest installer and follow each direction properly. Then it should work.

I was flying the Rom Cen-Ld which in the yards
shows as having 2 R torps in the field has 5 F torps
also i noticed that 2 extra Cen Pfs show up.

That's a leader PF Flotilla. See the rules. The other 2 PF's should also launch a PF.

Hi,

Whenever I launch fighters from my R-SUN I cannot see them in play. When I complete the mission they are still in inventory though. They work ok on the SUT.

U have to select PF's. I dont think ftrs will show.

It's the opposite.
he needed fighters, he was trying to use P/Fs.  ;)
I saw him on and let him know all that.
