i was wondering if you capture and enemy carrier and its fighter are out attacking you, will the fighter became allied?

The trick is, to damage the fighter group, leaving at least one alive. It will return and while it's repairing, cap the mothership.

I too seem to remember the capturing of a CV could really work out to your favor in combat.
