I know, late comer to watching this, but just saw this in a local theater.  I have to say the OSCARS were WRONG!!!

Down and out, this was the best movie I saw this year.

You are not alone there Dash. It wasn't even the boxing, it was the story of him doing the right thing all the time that really grabbed my heart.

I'm not sure if it was the best movie, but I loved it.  It could easily be the best Rocky since the original.  Of course, I loved just seeing Philadelphia on the big screen, but the movie was great.  There's actually some symbolism to the very first building you see in the movie.  The building is One Liberty Place, which didn't exist back in 1976.  Until 1987, no building was taller than the statue of William Penn on City Hall.  It just continues the theme of how things have changed since Rocky first fought Apollo Creed.

I get to philly maybe once every decade, but I tell ya, The historical sights, the atmosphere, I respect the hell of it, every time I go.

Maybe not as polite as my home state, but they have a history to be proud of.

Wow, I didn't know that about Philly.  Great movie, however.  I plan on seeing it again and I'll look for that, certain I'll be more likely to notice (now that I know what it is) it next time I see it.

I think it was one of , if not the best Rocky,,, (although i think I really liked the first.. haven't seen it since it first came out on VHS though, so been a bit)
But no- the Departed was a better movie overall.

I think it won.. Did it? (Never pay much attention to the Oscars...)
