Will Decker: Update Enterprise Texture Bash (Alt Textures)
« on: February 23, 2007, 10:21:18 pm »
It has been a while since my last post, but I have been doing some research on the Enterprise Refit's paint scheme and other details when I have the time. And I have found out a lot of differences to the Refit and the Enterprise-A. Which I will show with this latest update which is the Enterprise Model with her TWOK/TSFS  like textures sans the damage. I hope you like what I have been doing with this. It is still a work in progress but she is coming along nicely

In the pictures of your second post it looks like the light maps are off a bit, as they are causing a ghost image on the model
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

At first I thought I saw the same error but mistaken all of the pictures as being in one shot at first, but unless if I'm mistaken, I believe you might be seeing a light source that's supposed to be the sun shining at the drydock and the Big E.  What I think I've caught was a slight mis-alignment of light maps on the ventral saucer side...  I thought that was the problem pointed out, but whether it was or not I actually did miss that.  In any case, I really am attached to this retexture because of the prominence of the aztecs yet how it doesn't look out of place at all... Although it's been a while for me watching basically any Star Trek movie, I believe this was true for the Big E herself; the prominence of the metallic-like aztec patterns on the model.

I'm betting if you show the last picture of the first post (of the Big E's aft) to anyone who doesn't play games or watch Trek movies too much, I think they seriously could confuse the picture for a picture of the actual studio model.  I actually should try that to see if it's true, but I believe it seriously is real enough to feel as such.

I'd love to see the reactions if you did something like that.

Willard, I think I've been following the progress of this model since day one.  That's quite a while ago.

You have continually made progress that is delightful to watch.  Sometimes small steps sometimes leaps and bounds.

It makes me glad to see that you have kept your passion for it throughout the years.  I remember back in the early days the chorus's of "It's great... but.. oh boy yet another E model".  Fighting through the love fest that was given another modeler who had put out his own version of the movie E.  I guess it wouldn't be fighting but letting it go by you as you continued on what YOU wanted to do.

I have the same love affair with an earlier version of that same ship but unfortunately I got tired of hearing it and moved to other things.

I believe GotFarmYet is referring to the double ships registry on the secondary hull as he is referring to the second post which included pictures of that area.

Keep us delighted!  We thank you for it.
