atra's model at battleclinic
« on: February 19, 2007, 02:27:58 pm »
due to his request i ask that atra's model at the battleclinic be removed, they might be available at my web site (only the kitbah and re texturing) IF atra's accept it, if no the model will not be host on any site by me or for me, maybe atra will host them to his web site when he fix it. :rules:

sorry for any inconvenient it may cause but since the model belong to atra i will respect his decision.

You would not happen to have a list of the ones he wants removed do you to make it easier for them to do it?

No need to apologise it is his work, he has the right to control it. The people uploading are the ones who needed to seek his premissions before doing so.
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

Remember the axiom of big government bureaucrats: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. When, finally, under the crushing weight of taxes and regulation, it stops moving, subsidize it.

Would this include the Doomsday Machine recently posted by myself at the Battleclinic?

Atra=Atrahasis
Atrahasis does not equal atheorhaven.  :)  Different people.  Atra was around before I started..

Is Atrahasis planning a return? The first place I went when I returned to the internet & SFC was The Arc only to find it broken and abandoned.  :'(

I don't think he can return here... I forgot why, but I think some sort of conflict happened.  If memory hasn't served me right here, let me know please.

No, you're right.. If I remember correctly, I think he was banned for his opinion in the general forums..

Hopefully Atra gets everything worked out. He's a great resource for SFC. A new model from him is as exciting as Christmas morning. Unfortunate that there's a lot of luggage as well, but it's not unusual for artists to use their art for a vehicle to promote their ideas and opinions. Atra surely didn't invent that. lol

no but he should get over it, it happend around maybe 4 to 5 years ago, and saying that "i have mercilessly pilfered all his stuff", i find it offencive, after i ask him and he never answer me, he take the time to create a forum but never restore his website and complain that his model are made available at the battleclinic, well if you don't want your stuff to be stolen then don't make them available to anyone, keep them to your self.

I agree that it'd be nice if "everyone" got over it. (Remember that there are 2 sides to every disagreement). They haven't though. I had someone years later after the original incident refer to me as "Atrahasis' toadie" on these boards, simply because I consider Atra my friend. So, there's bad blood around.
I wasn't posting here though so much about your instance or the original one that started the whole mess. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was basically stating that I miss Atra's modeling, which he seems to have abandoned at the present time. Whether Atrahasis or his models are here or Battleclinic doesn't really matter much. He's not hard to find. :)

what i don't remember is he says that before his website was down that i have upload his mods to the battleclinic, i only remember uploading the mods of eras of war, not his mods, mostly since his website was still on.

Oh, see I missed a couple of years because of no internet, I heard of the incident though. As for his models at battleclinic, it's only because everyone loves them but cant get them because his site is down. I still keep The Arc bookmarked even though I know it isn't functional.

when i read this:    http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163351890.0.html    i need to ask atrahasis permission, but for what he says his answer will always be "no", then he should put his name in the "DO NOT UPLOAD TO MASS-MODEL SITES (Kitbashes or Originals)" instead of "ASK PERMISSION", if this stuff is not update well it was up to him to correct that info.

atra got banned over five years ago when there was a site ran by Taldren.  He got into it with a moderator there and was banned for life from that site.  since Taldren is no longer an existing company and this is a "new" board, bygones were bygones right?  nope some of the moderators here were from Taldren and the grudge still festers.

personally, atra and i have gotten into arguements over some of the phrases he chose to use as passwords.  i found them to be cheap shots at getting his personal opinions out.

he is a talanted modeller.  between him and WickedZombie it's a toss up.  P81 doesn't stand a chance.  I got Star Trek Legacy and it was a waste of my money.  The game is buggier than a cheap Memphis motel and the models look like lego.

but back to atra and his models.  i got them off of his site way back in 2002 and battleclinic.  Here is something that will rile you hardliners.  I checked with a JAG aquaintance and found out that they are...MINE.  I am owner of these models due to the fact that they were  given FREELY.  It would have been worse if I paid for them.  Then atra would be responsible for customer satisfaction.

Two.  He basically abandoned his "ownership" of them when he posted them for public use and when he REFUSED to answer any emails or attempts to contact him in a reasonable time.

Think of it as writing your name, address and phone number on a $100 dollar bill and leaving it on the sidewalk and expect it to be there when you come back in a month.
Then think of someone calling you every day for a week saying come get your money and you don't answer.  then they call once a week for three months and you still don't respond.
So a year goes by and you read in the newspaper how a some poor joe or jane found a $100 dollar bill on the sidewalk tried to contact the owner and when no answer was given they went out bought a lottery ticket and won big $$$$$$.

You as the owner call the police reporting thievery and try to sue for damages.  Not even the ACLU would take it...Well maybe.  No self-respecting lawyer would waste the time energy or effort.

Now for the hardliners.  You want YOUR models on MY computer played YOUR way???
Not a chance.
Get pay site and charge for them or put them up on ebay like some fool did with Diablo stuff.  I don't see a huge demand from the gaming community for trek stuff.
Now am I going to post them with my name on them???
Hell no.  That is fraud.  A crime punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.  Just ask TUS.  He's a commisioned officer in the USAF.

What I can do is just as freely as I got them I will freely give them to anyone who asks.  Sans the stupid passwords on the zip and rar files.  Do with them what you will.  Just don't claim them as YOUR creations.
DaVinci made sixteen Mona Lisas and Michelanelo could draw a perfect circle freehand all day long.
If you did it once you can do it again.   That is the quality of a master of ones abilities.

And for those of you with harsh words for me take this into account.  I've just spent six months of my life in a place where on the first day in country i get shot.  I got enough shrapnel in me the metal detectors at airports go off and i gotta show scars to airport screeners.

So if you don't have anything nice to say...
what nobody seen Bambi???
