Topic: Is there a Andromeda Mod for SFC? (Read 2280 times)

A while ago someone contacted me about andromeda ships and I was wondering if a mod was ever done specifically for Andromeda. If so, which SFC version?

Slave girls of Orion series has a few in the shiplist over at the SFC II Experiences forum and Chris Jones' TNG mod has some in there too. Neither has a completely accurate Andromedan Ivasion force due to the limits of the SFC engine. The dispalcement device effect needs to be part of a scripted mission and I believe that Nuclear Wessels has had some limited success with that. Please note that the TRB Heavy and Light weapons need to be manually added to the shiplist as Ship Edit does not have them IIRC.

Wicked Zombie has a killer collection of TMP Andromedans at his site too also speced for SFC3 IIRC.

I was thinking the same thing as KF, as for the "other" Andromeda, I doubt it as I have only seen maybe 3 ships from that series ever having been made.

By way of education, "slipstream" was the "warp drive" of the Andromeda universe. I really liked the show and yes it was mainly for the babes but the stories were mostly really good.

We worked on a mod some years ago. That was when I was much more involved. The ships reflected well the SFB Andronmedan ships, but they functioned like your standard SFC ship. They had several modifications to try and make them more Energy absorbing and such, and for the most part, it worked - but once the shields went down (nope no eneregy absorber panels) You were toast.

As it was, it was fun to fly the Andros again, but they just weren't the same.

And I'm not sure I have ever seen such a thing, just your ships, those fighters and the Andromeda herself knocking about...
