A little Spanish castle magic
« on: February 03, 2007, 02:18:22 am »
Just a generic filler ship for use by pretty much any of the races. Obviously based on the Merchantman from ST3 that was reused, repainted, and reworked to represent a dozen other starships throughout the years. This one has hull paneling to cover up the exposed components, different details, cargo containers and of course the torpedo launcher and disruptor turrets.

An extra five quatloos to whoever pegs where the name is from - without using the internet to find it.

I'll pass on the quatloos, since I have no idea.  As for the ship model: I was never a fan of the Merchantman, but I don't think you've done a bad job modifying the ship design.

really nice! If one wanted to DL it, which catagory/race is it under @ DRS?
If Romulans aren't cowards, then why do they taste like chicken?

This is great. I especially love the addition of the weapons; now I have the pirate freighter I've been looking for.

I like it!

Been wondering if anyone was doing things that could work with the primary races ships. Any plans for Romulan or Kligon frieghter types as well?

Would the name come from the fortification stormed in the Mexican War and referenced in the Marine Corps Hymm? (Ie: Halls of Montezuma)
"Dialogue from a play, Hamlet to Horatio: 'There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy.' Dialogue from a play written long before men took to the sky. There are more things in heaven and earth, and in the sky, than perhaps can be dreamt of. And somewhere in between heaven, the sky, the earth, lies the Twilight Zone."

Tsk, tsk. No Hendrix fans around here? Guess I'm keeping the five quatloos...

DCS is the Mirror Universe version of the site, just for spits and whistles. 'course, I'm the one with the goatee so I suppose that makes them the good guys...

I did have plans for other freighters and 'extra' ships but can't say when I'd ever get around to them.

As for the Romulans, they do have a way of showing up when you least expect them.

Heh heh... nice reference.
