Daran Class Fast Frigate Up at Battleclinic

The Daran Class Fast Frigate is now up a Battleclinic. This was a very simple kitbash of the awesome Knox Class Frigate done by Models Please. I simply removed the megaphaser cannons and pylons, and the WADE deflector units. I also added interest to the model by changing the landing bay textures. I really wanted to add landing platforms, but I lack the skill to pull that off at this time.

Not only does it not have the landing ramp but it still has the Knox registry on it. And the HP is now incorrect as well. I'll fix all of it and get the regs done.

Guilty as charged. As stated previously, I lack the skill to bash the ramps on it. Also, I've never created registries for a ship before, so there is yet another skill I need to pick up. I'm happy to remove it from Battleclinic, since it's off of your bash. Just say the word.   :brickwall:

Registries are quite simple really.  I do them all the time.  If you've got Photoshop and the right font, then you've got everything you need.  :-D

Yep, Photoshop is on my list of stuff to buy. I do now have a copy of Milkshape 3D 1.7.8. so that's a definite step in the right direction.

The Daran was built by Aria Mastac's Prime Dockyards on Daran V, the first vessel of its class.
The keel was laid down on stardate 5915.3, and the vessel was launched on 6075.1 and commissioned on 6108.73.
The Daran was one of four starships that faced the fleet of the bounty hunter Sweeney in a 2288 battle over Tau Gamma II, along with the Avenger, Enterprise-A and Exeter.

I have Photoshop, but I was wondering what font you use? I have Starfleet Bold Extended, but the outline around the letters is black and it's more hassle than it's worth to try and "colour it in".

Where can I get one that has the exactly-correct font for TMP-Era Starfleet ships?

I use the exact same font, believe it or not.  The color in the registries is a Stroke effect.  If you wish to know more, IM me on MSN at Golden_Centurion@hotmail.com.  I'm online right now.

Hi MP,

For your Knox and Daran classes, shouldn't the rear edge of the Raised Hull be straight instead of angled like the Miranda, and shouldn't the taper of extended hull be wider?

Don't worry, MP. Centaurus has kinda energised me about the model building. I'm actually going to give it another go myself, so maybe in a few months I'll be good enough to stop pestering you and do things for myself.
