SNS
« on: January 18, 2007, 07:29:56 pm »
Does the Battleclinic no longer carry the SNS ships?  I did a search for SNS and came up with zero results.  When I looked at the Galaxy class area I couldn't find the SNS Galaxy nor the SNS Galaxy X.  Any Idea where they may be?  Or if someone has them I could upload them to Battleclinic.

hmm, could they be under a different name?  And I do believe the Galaxy X was ported because I've used it before.  I just don't have them anymore  :'(

There's an issue with the SNS Galaxy when I tried to port it. I believe I have a 3D version that I may have forgotten to port. I'll look and let ya know. The Akira's were ported. Don't recall porting the Entante Class over.

Sweet!  Now I have the Enterprise - D but a refit would still be awesome.  And actually, since we're on the topic, one thing that kind of bothered me was the Starfleet insignia on the refit's hull.  Since they upgraded to the cooler insignia in the future, shouldn't the same insignia be seen on their ships?  If it's not up for download, maybe someone can put that sig on it?  Just an idea.

I found the Galaxy-class Ent-D by pure happenstance:

Like so many discoveries, it was sheer dumb luck!

I did the refit as well, actually there are a couple of the SNS with retextures on my page. As for the insignia, why would a ship built in the the 2360's and refits in the 2370's have an insignia from the 2390's?

The refit came shortly after the first Galaxy's were launched. And there's no evidence any of the destroyed Galaxy Classes were rebuilt. Even the Sovereign predates the insignia by 17 years.

It makes sense to update the ships to meet current looks doesn't it?  During the Dominion War, Excelsiors, and I believe Mirandas were painted with the modern Starfleet Insignia.

Nope that's the standard Excelsior insignia. Nothing new there  ;)
