James Burke's 1st Connections Series.

Simply incredible though it is dated 1978.
If you have not seen it...it is worth the 49 odd minutes of your life to watch the first one "the Trigger Effect".

One of the discovery/science channels played the whole series about a year ago. It really is a good series. for those who don't know, it's a historical show, that shows how science of the past led to the world we live intoday.

For example, it will talk about the Egyptians making beer, and how that led to modern Submersables, via the Civil war. Just an example.

Heh, years ago, And I mean years ago, back when AOL was the top IP, My girl Melanie wanted a kids account. so I signed her up, and she was the first person ever to have an egyptian beer named after her.

I got many an email's over that, Mind you I monitored everything thing that the kids did back then, and when she learned what the name was, she cussed me for a month.
