My computer is not Vista ready, but it doesn't need to be since it already blows its doors off.

That is what the little metallic sticker on it says. But, even if I wanted to cough up that much dough I'd probably just get a new hard drive and install it on that. then, if I have major problems I could just swap it out for the old one again.

My computer is vista ready. I've been playing around with the pre-release version on my laptop. Fairly nice OS.

Windows Vista is an ok OS, but in the end, doesn't really offer much more than XP does. Most of what I've seen is just flash and fancy, very little substance. Some of the default security settings are a bit too much in my opinion, but that's just me.

It's not at all bad, but for the price, and the fact that, in my opinion, it doesn't offer much more than XP, it's not worth getting for a long while.

I agree. The security settings don't seem to have much inherent "Intelligence" to them. They just seem to ask you whether or not you want to run something.

Wonderful for those that dont know what they are doing on a computer, but for those that at least have the advanced skills to know whats going on without default protection its going to just be irritating for a security window every 10 seconds.. hopefully it will at least be easily disabled the way the XP security center is to disable..
My computer is Vista ready though.. I will however wait a bit after its release.. its probably going to be a buggy as ST Legacy is right now.. we shall see when it comes out

The only way I would use Vista is if I got it for either free or dirt free, and even then it won't be my main OS. I would probably only use it for games and other programs that will only run on Vista. I just hope it doesn't put up too much of a fit if you want to set up a dual-boot system.

Even if it did you could always put the operating systems on different hard drives. Then it would just be a matter of rebooting and going into Bios to change the boot order when you want switch operating systems.
