New laws for 2007
« on: January 01, 2007, 02:00:14 pm »
Cannot travel outside the U.S. w/o a passport

SSNs cannot be printed on paycheck in MD, and in Arkansas it is illegal to transmit your SSN over the internet

Sex offenders? In Michigan you will get an e-mail alert when an offender moves into your hood. And in Illinios GPS tracking on parolees will be used.

In 18 states the minimum wage is going up. Sorry Texas, we do not get it, I guess we have plenty of cheap labor already, nevermind they do not speak Ingles...

I'll make a tax thread too, got some really good stuff for that one.  ;)

Sounds good, at least Texas will have clean air and/or pissed off smokers.  Both of which make me happy :)
I was never here, you were never here, this conversation never took place, and you most certainly did not see me.

I like cranking up the stereo and pissing cell phone drivers off. Nothing like a lil bit of Judas Priest or Mexican Polka to make them pay attention to the road.  ;D

I think Texas leads the nation in Methane production, those beans really help!  ;D

Ever recorded a television show or a movie so you can watch it later? Or ripped a CD so you can listen to it on your MP3 player?

With changes to Canada's copyright laws expected as early as next month, these mundane 21st century activities could theoretically be open to prosecution — unless the Conservative government steps in with expanded "fair use" or "fair dealing" protections for consumers.

Close observers of the file say all signs point to a new regime that will improve safeguards for major music, film and media companies and artists for unpaid use of their material, but neglect to make exemptions for personal use of copyrighted content.

Exacerbating the situation is intense pressure from the United States, where Canada is considered a rogue when it comes to copyright and intellectual property. It still hasn't ratified a 1997 World Intellectual Property Organization copyright treaty.

I think they should tax booze. A fifth of JD should be at least $500. After all, booze is responsible for most domestic violence assualts and thousands of people are killed each year because of drunks. If we are going to create "sin" taxes, they should be across the board. Like a glass of wine with dinner? That will be $120. Like a beer after work? A sixpack should cost about $80.

I know, lets tax everything that is supposed to be bad for you. Beef, $45/lb. Better yet, lets make everything a criminal offense. Your kid forgets to brush his teeth? Five years in prison or publically flog the parents.

You must really hate poor people Maxillius. Most smokers are poor. Like to watch them grovel at your feet? I wonder if you would feel the same way if something you liked was targetted.
