Got SFC3 - Now some questions!
« on: December 12, 2006, 04:15:06 pm »
I just got SFC3 from a friend who luckily saves all of this old titles, and so far really like it.  I'm running the latest patch but no mods yet, and there are a couple of  things I'm wondering....

1.  What is the best mod/ship pack to install if I want to add vessels from TOS and more importantly ST:TMP thru ST3:TSFS era?  I really don't care either way about TNG, DS9 or Enterprise stuff.

2. Is there any way to prevent the zoom level in overhead view from resetting every time an enemy ship cloaks?  If I'm in a 1on1 skirmish and the other ship cloaks, the view zooms in to the extents of my vessel, forcing me to manually zoom back out ever time.

Thanks,
M

In terms of mods, Generations At War and Final Frontier are the best for TOS and TMP stuff, and GAW has TNG ships.

But there aren't really any ship packs out right now, just single downloads.  Check Battleclinic.com, Demon Renegade Studios (drs.battleclinic.com), and SFC3Files.com for your ship needs.

Greenvalv released a guide to modding SFC3 which should help you fully in adding ships to SFC3.

Thanks for the reply.   What about #2 (zoom ship extents on enemy cloak)?

with #2 I believe it has all to do with the settings for shield rings/model actual size.  not much you can do for this unless you just want to play single mission.  Adjusting these settings will not let you play others unless they have the same settings.

My advice, don't bother with the overhead view.  It's more trouble than what it's worth.  Stick to the normal view.  You're better off.
