Not sure if anyone here played any Metagames in the late 70/ early 80's?

Car Wars, Ogre/GEV, Melee, Wizard, and a bunch more.

Turns out there are some online resources.

I liked the Melee/Wizard as a game, better than D&D.  I guess it was because that it was a wargame, rather than a role playing game.

MAn the old Steve Jackson pocket games come to mind. I remember one My friends and I used to play all the time, some kind of Martial arts game.

Good times there Villa.

Nice find - we used to play a LOT of Car Wars ... it still comes to mind on days when traffic is particularly bad ;)

Another one I used to enjoy was Paranoia - an old West End/Mongoose RPG in the early/mid 80's.  I hadn't realized they released a "Paranoia XP" version last year (still an RPG, just poking lots more fun at Microsoft I gather) until Microsoft complained and they had to drop the "XP"   :P
