Federation F111 Aardvark (TMP'd)
« on: November 20, 2006, 05:13:49 am »
Another SFB to TMP model. Red, white, and blue USAF Thunderbirds style paint. Added the Southern cross star group to the tail in reference to my move south (way south  ;) ) of the equator.

You could make the EF-111 too, it basicly has a sensor pack on top of the vertical stabilizer.

I like the model alot and think that once again, you have done good work,

The textures however are another matter. I have no objection to the quality or the workmanship. Rather, i object to the use of a proprietary USAF color scheme unless you obtained permission to use it. Since the USAF thunderbirds have trademarked the scheme, I hope you asked permission from the USAF to use it. I like your work regardless just not the use of a proprietary scheme. A little tweaking would have been acceptable.

Or maybe i am just being a little TOO nitpicky on what is an excellent model.

You're joking, right?

P.S. Thanks for the kind comments. I'm glad you like the model.

Adonis, That's a cool idea. It's just a wee little 600 poly fighter though. You'd never notice it in game.

yea if the fighter is the size of a shuttle it woul;d be too small to notice, i was considering that the fighters are a bit big compare to the shuttle bay but if there too small you wont see much of them  ;D

so maybe a WW1 fighter would be fun?, WZ made 3 WW2 fighters so something new is welcome, or just imagine a brand new fighter  ;D

Ftrs. and shuttles aren't to scale in game because of the reason that you point out - you wouldn't be able to see them. Heavy ftrs. are twice the size of standard ftrs. or admin. shuttles, but would still be pretty small.
Something I found interesting is that the F-111 in real life is actually to scale for an SFB hevy ftr. It's about 21 meters long (69+ft.).

I have to disagree with ya Rod, I have scaled the fighters and shuttles properly and yes you can see them in game. I feel it added to the game. And unless you're planning on using one in a ship slot, it doesn't really matter how much detail is on them. But then again I use runabouts in POL slots, yeah they are small compared to say a BoP but man it's awesome when the scale is on, to see the size difference. My $.02  ;D
