I honor you who are or have served
« on: November 10, 2006, 07:00:39 am »
November 10th, 2006

I just want to say that I honor those of you that have and/or are serving in the US military. Today is the day that our country celebrates, but I have to say that I celebrate and thank all of you EVERYDAY!

I will be thanking my father as I am sure he is remembering his lost buddies from Viet Nam when he was in the Army. I will be thanking my father-in-law for his many many years of silent service in the submarine force. I will be thanking my brother and my cousin for their time in the reserves. I will be thanking my brother-in-law for rejoining the military and is now an officer. And I will always thank my lucky stars that my husband serves proudly and with distinction in the US Navy. Without these people in my life I wouldn't understand what it means to be free, and I wouldn't understand honor and commitment as well as I do. They are my heroes and I am deeply proud of each and everyone of them!

May your Veteran's Day be peaceful and full of burning meat on the BBQ!
Aloha,

I am not a bigot, I just hate people on an individual basis.

The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. - President Teddy Roosevelt

On behalf of my devildawg officemates, those tireless recruiters selling the Corps to a largely uneducated public, I thank you. Being a civilian in the office, I have a unique viewpoint. Right now, I am headed to the Ball in order to pay the fine and drink the wine.
