forge technical problem
« on: October 15, 2006, 06:06:44 pm »
I was on the forge, but the map controls were sluggish and non-responsive.  I logged off, and when I tried to log back on, it said that my character was already on.  the OCI has me listed as being on.  can anyone help me?

Whew, I've been getting that message today too. Since it's a new install I thought it was me, glad to hear it's not.

directory server is up. I can see UAW and Bartoks basement, but no Forge despite many refreshes. :(

I guess that explains why you didn't say anything to me :P

Anyways while I saw your ghost there (about 18 hours ago from this post), game seemed work well for me. I managed to buy F-CB (I think) and kicked AI klingons hard in two missions. Game worked fine.

However, past weekend I have seen few times firewall error myself. And when I got to join The Forge, I found map to be blank, shipyard empty and after period of time some error message about lost connection to server.

I've been continuing to get the firewall message for weeks. I was even on The Forge since SGO6 ended...nothing was changed.
Checked every setting, etc. a dozen times at least, no joy.
Finally decided to to a reinstall and discovered that my good-soon-to-have-his-arse-kicked friend, aka Khan, "accidently " (he says, anyway) picked up my OP disk when he moved back to the East Coast... :cuss:
To make matters worse, I didn't discover this until AFTER I had run the uninstall... :cuss: :cuss:
I'm now waiting impatiently for him to mail me back the disk.  :cuss:

And now I see others are having the same issues...probably wasn't just me after all... :cuss:
I probably didn't even need to do the uninstall at all... :cuss:
