Email question
« on: September 29, 2006, 10:10:06 pm »
Every so often I'll get a email that has no subject line and no text or anything else. Is that just somebody sending out bougus emails to see if my address is real? I mean I never respond to the things, or  open them as trend micro will pop up at times from them so I just delete them.

But I do wonder about them..

That's prolly what's happening...I've gotten to the point that I preview my mail through my ISP's online mail program.

Wait until you get emails to yourself FROM yourself!  :o

many of those empty emails didn't start out empty, but your mail server's security software stripped out the contents because it flagged them as malicious.

and that is why I just switched to gmail in the first place.
Only in America .....do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.

I ran into a flaw (from my viewpoint anyhow) with GMail. I tried to mail a program and GMail just refused to send it.  As the sender I make that choice as the receiver you should be able to block receiving it and I would support GMail TELLING you that it is potentially dangerous.  GMail deciding to protect me from my own choices with no option to override them I disagree with.

I completely agree with you there and don't bother with gmail for precisely that reason.

That was my one and so far only attempt to use GMail.
