Opinion wanted on setting up a "Master Sticky thread"
« on: September 13, 2006, 07:42:29 pm »
We now have 5 stickied threads, what I propose is to make a replacement that is a set of links to the support threads that are stickied.  Those 4 threads listed below would have be unstickied and the new linking thread would be stickied instead.  One thread would replace and link to the 4 existing threads.

Even threads that are not now stickied could be put in the list.  Links could be set up for the top and bottom of each thread and updated periodically.  A quote could be added to define what each thread is about.

Opinions wanted.  Is this worthwhile?  Yes or No?  Alternative ways of doing this?  How to do this better?  If in favour what other threads should be added to the four listed?  Should I just stick with what we already have?

Something along the lines of:

Links to helpful threads:

Freely available and legal software Master List

My purpose for this thread is to provide links to freely and legally available software that may be of use to forum members.  Hopefully some will find the links as useful as I do myself.  With luck others will provide us with things I have not yet found.

I think if there were 10 or more sticky threads then I would consider doing something like that.  As it is now, I think I would leave it as is.  I would suggest that if you do something like this that you leave the Free Programs Master List and any other Master List at the top.  That would still only leave you with two or three sticky threads at any given time.  Hope this helps.
