A startrek question
« on: September 06, 2006, 09:58:37 pm »
in the pack of tos season 3 the last DVD contain the episode the cage, the original and the restored version, in the original you see gene walking on a set and you see what look like a work station for the enginery and a warpcore like on the enterprise A, but the warpcore seem old like it was from early tos era, but the enterprise was equiped with a intermix chamber, so is this warpcore was use on a set or is it just a prototype?

I have a VHS of the Cage that mixes both the original BW and colored scenes into one episode.  Before and after the show Gene comes up to talk about how he wrote the cage and how the second pilot came to be.  The set's he's walking around are most likely Motion Picture sets.  Though the engine room looks a bit like the screen test pictures for Phase II.

well i don't know if the phase 2 was having a warpcore but in startrek 2 it was a intermix chamber, it would have ben a bit weird if the first movie it a warpcore and the 2nd a intermix chamber again.

This is the nature of Trek.  Always has been inconsistent from episode to episode.
If you want consistency youo have to go with things like Babylon 5 and such.  Trek just isn't that way.
