Topic: Did you fly a line ship on SGO6??

I'd like to have some sense of how many people flew line ships on SG6 as their main ship of choice.  I'd define a line ship as the standard variant of any FF, DD, CL, CM, CA, or CC, plus and R refits included.  No carriers, no tenders, no droner, no marine ships, no metal obviously.  My guess is very few and those that did were in CCs.

Though I did get several kills in a "line" cruiser, most of my time was spent in a CF

As a kzin I spent almost no time doing so.

As a fed none, as a hydran none.

You want a count- count the number of players that flew a certain race.
If (for example) in your poll you have 10 Kzin and 10 Lyran you'll (likely) find that 10 people flew specialty and 10 flew line.
If you have 10 Klink, 10 Kzin and 10 Lyran you'll likely find that 20 flew specialty and 10 flew line.

If the poll accomplishes what you want, feel free to completely ignore me  - (most do anyway)
Just don't see the need to put your time and effort into something that may not tell you anything.

Thanks for the input.  If you'd like to help me promote the line ship idea, I am all for that as I believed you were in favor of it.  I'm just trying to get a baseline.  I understand your point.  Thank you for the information.

Fact is some races have much more viable "line ships" than others, and certain races have more advantage in flying "non-line" shipmthan others even if their "line-ships" are viable.

I like flying line ships when at all possible they are fun and take some effort to fly corectly.I however flew more non line ships because of the need to do so.

When flying fed, I usually follow the progression of CC+, NCL, CLC, CB for the length of the campaign.  I did try a CS+, though I didn't like it for some reason.  I also flew a CF, and a NAL, and they weren't bad, just lack the crunch of four photons.  I flew a NCD for maybe three missions, but can't stand relying on drones to get the job done.  Kind of a one trick pony there.  X-era gave me the chance to fly a DDx, which I enjoyed.

ps.  Find me a Fed pilot that enjoys flying a F-FF or F-DD and I'll give you a cookie

Oh yes, the CF is a great phaser boat, but like you said, the CB is good as well, as is the CAI (Better Ph1 arcs)...

Not in 2v2 on these maps, F-CB is fine in 1v1 but kinda screwed in "cheese and chase."

ED's new proposal for "endless" maps might make "line" cruisers much more useful.
