Reverse Phone book Security...
« on: August 31, 2006, 11:38:03 am »
I just ound out about this today, and have been removing My Grandmothers, sis-in-laws, etc. Basicly If you type in a land line number in the google search bar, It will come back with the address and Maps to the home buisness etc.

They have a form to have info removed however...

http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/pbremoval.html

They also list the following services of being able to do the same thing. Now, I don't care if people know me or where I live, as I can always shoot someone for tresspasing. ;) , But for those who have elderly , etc. I thought I might pass this along.

It only works if you have a listed number. None of my numbers are listed.

You could also use your name, city and state and it might pick up your phone number and address.
Only in America .....do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.
